There is a working harbour for sea fishing, which can be accessed via a 15-minute walk through town via the shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. At low tide when the local beaches open out into one large beach, you can access the harbour via our local beach (5-10 minutes walk away) and enjoy a beer and delicious street food from one of the numerous street food vendors (high season) when you arrive.

Storm watching with a hot chocolate is a must in the wintertime, and if you fancy a day away from the beach there is a cinema, zoo, swimming pool, golf course, horse riding and National Trust gardens to be found nearby making this the perfect spot to enjoy all the area provides. Within the gardens, there is a beautiful lake, overlooked by a restaurant and café. The lake is next to the Gannel Estuary, which is perfect for a relaxing paddle. The lake and Estuary are a 15 minute walk/2 minute drive away, alternatively, you can hire a bike (including an E-bike) if that is your preferred way of exploring Newquay.

Within 30 minutes drive, there are some amazing attractions such as The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens, Camel Valley Cycle Trail and Vineyard and the beautiful wooded National Trust estate of Lanhydrock. Alternatively, you may fancy a spot of shopping in Truro, the ‘capital’ of Cornwall. Padstow, a typical Cornish fishing village, well known for quality shops and restaurants and Watergate Bay,home to ‘Emily Scott Food’, are a short journey along one of the country’s most beautiful coastal drives along the southwest coastal path.

Some of the attractions that are slightly further afield include the Tate Gallery and Hepworth galleries in St Ives, the Lizard, Falmouth, St Michaels Mount, the Minack Theatre and Lands End.
