Beautiful cottage. Very comfortable and welcoming. Warm and cosy. Dawn was great at communicating and everything was perfect. Gorgeous decor. The garden is stunning and very safe for our dog. Thank you Dawn. You are a star. Can’t recommend enough.
The cottage was spotless, charming, comfortable and warm. Quiet too. There was everything you needed there. Dawn, our host, was lovely and incredibly helpful. It was one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Very impressed.
This was my first ever Airbnb and what a great experience. Far exceeded my expectations. Dawn met me on arrival. She was bubbly, helpful and even provided some milk and bread for my breakfast. The cottage was immaculate and Dawn couldn’t have been more helpful with tips on good walks to what the local pubs were like. I was able to park outside the property at all times. Dawn was super responsive and accommodating with all requests. Highly recommend property and host 😊 Would definitely stay again!
Yew Trees is a beautiful, cosy, homely cottage with lovely large bedrooms, gorgeous open fire and nice garden. Dawn responded quickly to all messages/questions and was so helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed spending Christmas here.
Dawn's cottage is lovely. Well equipped and full of original features, warm and homely. The area has some nice walks that dogs and humans alike will appreciate. The village feels quite remote, even though it's well connected. Getting there driving on narrow country lanes can be hair raising, but it's part of the fun. Really enjoyed our stay there!
A Beautiful village set in productive farmland and An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village church has historic links to the Culpepper family, which owned nearby Leeds Castle. A visit to the castle is highly recommended. The Pilgrims Way offers a gentle walk or the beginning of a personal pilgrimage. Pubs are dotted along the way, or you can take the train from Hollingbourne into London or further into the Kent countryside, and Canterbury. The village is popular with walkers and cyclists, and has two pubs within walking distance... The Sugar Loaves, which is dog friendly, and The Windmill; both serve food, and The Windmill serves breakfast also. About a 45 minute walk is The Black Horse at Thurnham as well as the village of Bearsted.
A bus service runs from Hollingbourne Church into the nearby county town of Maidstone. There is also a main line rail station in the village (15 min walk).
Just about everything else is only a short walk (or cycle) away, with Leeds Castle 25 mins on foot. The area boasts lots of routes to walk and cycle, including the Pilgrims' Way and the famous Hollingbourne Hill.
