A beautifully-presented, centrally heated lodge on a blissfully small park of just ten cedar lodges, ideally situated beside the River Clun in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of Shropshire' s Clun Valley. Perfect for walking, exploring, fishing or just relaxing. Immaculate throughout and providing spacious, contemporary accommodation, this wonderful Shropshire lodge sits in a superbly private spot, with the River running on three sides, and provides the perfect retreat. Full height glass doors afford attractive views towards the river, and on warm summer evenings they can be swept open to invite inside a cool breeze. Guests will find two charming bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen with a bright dining area, plus a comfortable sitting area complete with a warming woodburner. Wander out onto the raised decking with your morning coffee and revel in the peace and tranquillity of the area or simply relax. There are excellent walks and cycle paths from the doorstep of this Shropshire lodge, with the enchanting wildlife site of Clunton Coppice just a short stroll away. Bury Ditches is close by, boasting an impressive Iron Age earthwork fort from which uninterrupted views can be enjoyed.
Spent three nights here for my Birthday with our three year old and it was the perfect setting to relax and spend quality time together as a family. Everything was clean and tidy and we all felt right at home. We were not able to walk to the pub or anywhere really as the road out of the park was flooded. There were a couple of nice places to eat and drink a short drive away: The White Horse Inn (Clun) and a lovely tea room at Stokesay Castle. We had a day trip to Ludlow which was really nice and lot’s of shops and places to eat. The hot tub was a lovely addition which enjoyed on the afternoon/evenings when the rain stopped! Would definitely return - thank you for having us.
This was a brilliant family break. Quiet, relaxing with the added advantage of the hot tub. The beds were really comfy and the fireplace added that little bit extra. We will be back
Enjoyable break for me and my family with amazing scenic views, peaceful surroundings and sunshine. We loved the hot tub we had an amazing clear night sky so able to do some star gazing whilst relaxing.
Spent four nights as a last minute half term break with the kids which was accommodated at last minute (thank you!). The lodge is lovely, quiet and peaceful location right next to the river, it’s the perfect place for a break away. Within easy driving distance to plenty of places. I think all that was missing for us was a few of the basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt and pepper. But as long as you take your own there is everything you can possibly need. We were left a couple of coffee pods however which was lovely! Hosts really responsive with any queries or questions. Can’t wait to visit again ☺️
The local history of this impressive area can also be discovered in the village of Clun, a short distance from this Shropshire lodge along the AONB Clun valley, with its romantic 11th century castle ruin and local amenities including shops, tea rooms and welcoming rustic pubs.
Local shopping at Craven arms, with easy access to the historic towns of Ludlow, Church Stretton and Shrewsbury or journey to Carding Mill Valley at the Long Mynd or the Clee Hill for excellent walking and views. Visit Clunton Coppice and walk the tree lined ridge through the forest to Clun or explore the Viking hill settlement at Bury Ditches.
Refresh at The Crown at Clunton which serves excellent food and is less than a five minute stroll down our lane by the river. An outstanding Shropshire lodge, ideal for a memorable holiday at any time of year.
Own vehicle is a necessity. Parking directly outside each lodge.
