This studio unit comes equipped with air conditioning as well as a seating/ dining area in front of a mounted flat-screen TV. Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area on the 4th floor which is where the communal pool area is located. There is a small gym available for guest use as well. The apartment offers city views/ Harbor views and mountain views! Along with all the essential and extra amenities to help make for a fantastic and relaxing stay. This is including an imported German SMEG oven with electric plate stove, flat screen TV,Netflix, Youtube , 24 hour security and much more! This building offers a urban-chic space. A fully equipped gym looking out to the sun deck. There is a pool on the patio offering city/mountain and harbour views, along with a pool bar serving gin and craft beers! There are numerous communal lounges and sitting areas with a pool table. The entire building is available to you
The host was super responsive and check-in was seamless. The best part was the shops and restaurants on the ground floor of the building. The pool was really small and always crowded. The Apartment was missing a dryer that was listed in the description. And a sewage smell was coming from the shower drain even after maintenance tried to fix it once. I felt nickeled and dimed as the host charged me for fresh towels. The cleaning charge was also expensive for a studio apartment. There is no washer and dryer in unit so laundry is a added expense. It would have been more cost effective to pay a little more for a different Airbnb with more amenities. Great for shorter stays of less than a week but I would not recommend this place for longer stays.
Overall the place is decent for a short stay in Cape Town. Good location, pool and gym are decent, communal space for co-working and the Spar run the building were very convenient. However, be aware that the photos are not of the apartment you will actually have - Perch seems to run all the flats on the fourth floor and just switch out the rooms interchangeably while using a set of generic photos for the Airbnb postings. This meant that while in the Airbnb posting there was a mountain view, I ended up having a view of a dirty back alley and train station. Although they did get me into a mountain view room a few days later, I would have appreciated much more that the room wasn’t falsely advertised from the beginning :/ Also the key cards they give you don’t work from outside when the building closes at night, which was definitely a security risk if you got back late and had to wait outside for someone to let you in.

The studio apartment is centrally located, and close to Woodstock’s famous Old Biscuit Mill market and funky shopping and dining precinct.
Right on your doorstep, you have easy access to the N1 and N2/M3 freeways, plus transport routes like MyCiTi bus stop, cycle track and the train station are literally a few hundred metres away.
WEX1 is only 3kms from the city centre, Cape Town International Convention Center and the V&A Waterfront, and only 18kms from Cape Town International Airport.
Should you be using public transport , I’d suggest you download the uber (taxi) and / or MyCiti (bus) app.
Guests have various transport options available to them including Uber, Myciti Bus and private vehicle. Parking is available in the building for free.
