We love coming to Sapelo and this house was perfect. Very comfortable and plenty of room. The hosts have clearly spent time thinking of every detail. We took the private boat over which the host arranged. Captain John was so accommodating and lovely! We hope to visit again soon!

I can’t say enough things about our stay here. It is a beautiful cabin & the hosts truly thought of everything— from sunscreen packets, to bug bite ointment, to beach towels, to s’mores supplies, to the cutest little welcome package and note that included wine & a charcuterie board. Everything was clean and as described, & we were able to spend a lot of meaningful family time. My family felt right at home here. It was also great that the Kawasaki mule was right at the dock along with instructions on how to get to the home— it made the journey from the ferry to the house really simple. When we return to Sapelo Island (which we try to do every couple of years), we will DEFINITELY be looking to stay at this location again. Thank you all!

Sapelo Island is a uniquely conserved barrier island. Respect the setting and go there to get away and leave noise and frantic life behind! Local residents are warm and friendly. Cell phone access is often not strong except on the west side (mainland side) of the island. Wifi access at the cabin was strong; used an app for cell phone communication. Chakalaka is cozy, well furnished and privately serene. Refrigerator and spice cabinets had all the condiments needed, plus cleaning supplies, foil, wrapping film and ziplock bags--much like my own kitchen. They've thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable. Dish television access was sufficient for the little time the kids were in need. Enjoyed Cabretta and Nanny Goat beaches and some of the hiking trails. We saw a small herd of 5 deer behind the house just browsing quietly. The last night (mid-April) we were dazzled by hundreds of fireflies surrounding the house and its woodland/meadow setting. Regretted having to leave!

This is my third trip to Sapelo and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Wonderful space! We stayed with another family and the house divided easily between us with each family getting a bathroom. Beds were super comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of water, s’mores supplies, local honey, grits and cornbread mix. Host and property manager were very responsive and friendly. The mule and bikes were perfect for getting around the island. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend to anyone looking to visit sapelo!
