Sitting just steps away from the attractive High Street in pretty Castle Cary, and facing the historic Roundhouse on Bailey Hill, this Grade II listed stone-built cottage is ideally situated for exploring the delights of South Somerset and Dorset beyond. Lying on the edge of rolling countryside and close to the Somerset Levels, the Mendip Hills and the Blackmore Vale, Castle Cary is a small, attractive country town. Situated within easy reach of popular Bath, and with numerous quaint villages nearby, Round House Cottage is a stylish and comfortable base for your holiday adventures. The cottage cleverly combines modern styling with original features, and offers generous space for up to four guests. As you enter the cottage there is an attractive original tiled hallway, leading to a front facing study, and through to the cosy sitting room with wood burning stove. The spacious kitchen is well-appointed with a range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and microwave, and leads through to the dining room with original flagstone floor. A cloakroom completes the generous ground floor accommodation. Upstairs are two comfortable king-size bedrooms, one with its own en-suite shower room. The third bedroom in the cottage is set up as a yoga/retreat room for guests to enjoy, and there is a family bathroom with free-standing bath and a double walk-in shower enclosure. The front of the cottage looks out across Bailey Hill and the neighbouring cottages, and directly at what was the original town lock-up built in 1779. Just a short stroll away is the market place and High Street with a selection of shops, restaurants and cafes. Just a five-minute drive away is The Newt, a working country estate with magnificent woodland and gardens; and also Hauser & Wirth Garden and Gallery at Bruton. With so much to see and do in Castle Cary and the surrounding area, a stay at this lovely cottage is a must. Additional Information: Sorry, no children under the age of 12 years of age. Sorry, no pets. There is short term parking available immediately outside of the cottage subject to availability, and long term parking just a 5 minute drive away. Castle Cary has a railway station with a regular service to Bath, which is 20 miles away. Castle Cary is noted for its attractive high street with a good selection of shops, cafes and pubs. Somerset is home to many attractive market towns and villages to explore. The nearest towns of Yeovil, Bruton, Frome, and Glastonbury all within a short car journey away.
The South West is steeped in myths and legends, from King Arthur to ley lines. Glastonbury tor is an evocative landmark that stands majestically above the rolling countryside, with walks to the top of this 15th century tower and survey a view that stretches for miles.

The delightful National Trust properties of Montacute, Lytes Cary, Tintinhull and Barrington Court are all within easy reach and are well worth a visit.
For a fascinating and enjoyable day out the Naval Aviation Museum near Yeovil is perfect for the whole family. The museum showcases some of Europe's largest aviation collection of helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.

The charming market town of Frome provides a wealth of independent shops, food markets and places to eat. The Frome Independent, held the first Sunday of the month (Mar-Dec), is not to be missed.
The historic city of Bath is brilliant for day trips. Less than an hour's drive away, make sure to book in advance and include a visit to The Roman Baths where you can enjoy a soak with amazing views.
The Mendip Hills is famous for its limestone caves and gorges with must-see attractions including the Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge & Caves and Ebbor Gorge.
Visit medieval Wells which has a host of historical and architectural gems including Wells Cathedral, The Bishop's Palace, Vicars Close and the Wells & Mendip Museum.
