Stepping inside the hallway leads you to the welcoming front lounge, with a wood burning stove providing warmth as well as a cosy atmosphere. There is also a second lounge, also equipped with its own wood burner so that you can branch out into separate rooms in an evening if you wish. The kitchen is bright and modern with a separate dining room with patio doors leading out into the rear garden. If you enjoy cooking then this is a great choice as the kitchen equipment goes that little step further with a popcorn maker, ice cream crepe and bread maker and antique tea services in the cupboard. You are located very close to the centre of the village and its independent shops, pubs, tearooms and ice cream parlour. Thornton-Le-Dale attracts many visitors, who come to soak up the picture perfect scenery, following footpaths as well as the stream which meanders through the village. You are just a few minutes’ drive to the popular market town of Pickering with the North Yorkshire Heritage Railway where you can board a steam train running along the picturesque Esk Valley to reach the historic coastal town of Whitby as well as stopping at some beautiful villages across the national park on the way. Some popular attractions such as Dalby forest, Flamingo Land theme park as well as Castle Howard are an easy drive away and the property is just 18 miles from the coast or a 40 minute drive to York. Logs and kindling for the fire and hot tub can be purchased in the village along with charcoal for the pizza oven. The village is a hive of activity, firstly in August with their scarecrow weekend and village show, and again in October, when the nearby village of Pickering hosts its 1940s War Weekend and again in December for the annual Christmas lights and féte.
