It feels like you're at the edge of the world with the sweeping views of the pacific and it's sense of peaceful isolation. If you're looking for a walkable area near tourist centers, this place is not for you. If you want peace and to disconnect for a while, this is the spot you want.

I want to be honest, as though Steve's place is beautiful, there were definitely some issues that I wish someone else had of written about. The good: Home is well stocked with literally anything you might be looking for. Beds are comfortable, and Steve is friendly and very responsive. He keeps a guest book for people to leave reccomendations and record their stay, I thought this was a nice touch. The bad: Not for the faint of heart - the entire house is built on the side of a "cliff," as is primary parking. Only about 18" of foot space, a trip over a rock here could have a tragic end. I did end up parking infront of the house. Roads are windy, you get used to it, but wouldn't try it at night. House needs a professional deep cleaning and left behind items need to be purged. Kid used mouthwash left 🤢. Futons are hard, decks leading around are sagging - which made me uncomfortable, again height. The first time we took the trash down - it was overflowing, there were maggots everywhere.

We enjoyed our stay! The stunning ocean view and the cleanliness were the best. The floor of the entire house was so clean. The house is spacious and the lanai is beautiful. There was everything we need in the kitchen and the beach items were provided, so many things are available for the guests. 1 hour distance from Kona town but it's worth driving. Steve is a great host. He is so kind to leave the lights on for us arriving in the evening. Instructions of how to get in was useful. I would stay again if I am fortunate enough to come back and recommend for anyone I know. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

A great place to stay if you are wanting to be away from the crowds. The best snorkelling we found on the island was in the bay down below the house. It is a decent distance from any main towns which can be appealing but will result in more driving time than if you are wanting to get into towns most days. We had seven people in the house and it worked well. The host was great to deal with and always came back quickly when we had any questions. I’d recommend if you want to get away from the crowds. Clean and amazing views with great sunsets!

This place has a beautiful view and is very peaceful. It is about half way in between Kona and Hilo. So if you are looking to do a few days in each then it is a good location. It is about an hour to Kona and about an about an 1.5 hours to Hilo. Steve was an amazing host. We loved using the gym, sitting on the patio drinking coffee and watching the sunrise and sunset. The house has all the amenities. Just grab groceries in Kona before coming down to the house. I would stay here again and would recommend it when coming to Hawaii. Thank you Steve for making us truly feel comfortable.
