Hello, I’m Julie, my husband Ernie and I moved to Idyllwild in 2017. We love Idyllwild, primarily the beauty and relaxing pace — but also the uniqueness, the small town living, knowing our neighbors, the store owners knowing our names, the many yearly events and amazing restaurants and shops, and experiencing the changes of the seasons in southern California! We love our little cabin that sits up high in the trees. I remember when we were looking for our property in Idyllwild, all I could think was — “I want to look out into the trees.” A steep drive and 25 stairs to our front door on the 2nd floor was what it took to accomplish the dream, a climb well worth the effort. When we are tired or carrying the grocery bags up all those stairs, we joke that the stairs are keeping us young :), but we are getting older… and we have recently been looking at options for outdoor elevators. We named our Idyllwild home Tree-Top Chalet in 2017. Tiny-Cub Cabin and Fawn’s Nest were established in 2021. We have always loved to design and build together, Ernie is a master wood and metal craftsman, he can make or recreate anything he sees or thinks up. I have always had a love for design and decor, I love to work with color, texture, lighting and balance in a space, to evoke a welcoming, relaxing and rejuvenating space. We fully remodeled and added space to our first home in Menifee, CA shortly after our marriage in 2000. We have done the same with Tree-Top Chalet, but there is more to come, we are never done creating, both of us always looking for ways to enhance and improve our home and surroundings. Our current project is an outdoor Bath/Shower House with waterfall feature, we hope to share it in the future with our guests. Tiny-Cub Cabin is our first vacation rental, we are so excited to share this special space with others looking for a cozy, relaxing and rejuvenating vacation destination. We now also offer part-time vacation stays at our newly appointed Fawn’s Nest. Fawn’s Nest is a new 19’ travel trailer offering a fun Retro decor and true “Glamping” experience.
