The cottage was lovely and very comfortable both for dry and wet weather. Big deck overlooking natural bushland was a beautiful spot for reading or enjoying a quiet beverage and inside a fireplace and comfy lounges if the weather turned. Bed was very comfortable.

Lovely place – if you are looking for a romantic getaway, peace-and-quiet (which nowadays don’t come easy), reading, wildlife watching, or in the concept phase of building a better future for the planet then this could well be your place. Upon awakening a horse may draw attention to itself, which is code for give me a carrot. Oddly he doesn’t seem keen on bananas – which is odd as he does live in Queensland and the potassium is good for him. There was also a young male roo that is either looking for a relationship or just plain curious – perhaps he will grow out of it. The house is totally off-grid so electric use kept to a minimum (lights, recharging and refrigerator). Can get a couple of bars of G4 signal at least with Telstra. We stayed over Christmas 2023 when it was one of those times if you didn’t like the weather just wait an hour – from beautiful sunshine to bigtime biblical downpours. Timothy and Shelly are wonderful hosts.

If you are looking for a private getaway in the bush then look no further than Flaggy Creek Cabin. This private and simple space has all you need for a weekend away or an extended stay. The atmosphere of this place is amazing with an array of wildlife right at your doorstep. My partner and I loved our time here and cannot recommend more highly. Both Tim and Shelley were very friendly and accomodating. We would not hesitate to stay here again next time we are in the Tablelands.
