The house was spacious and comfortable, but the most wonderful part about staying here was feeling like I was in magical world far away with the beautiful views of the sound, islands, forest and starry skies. It was great waking up in the morning to that view from the bedroom. I'd highly recommend it if you are able to get away from the city.

The Barkley house is truly a gem. The property has it all, breathtaking views as well as peaceful serene wildlife. Place can be tricky to find but I wouldn’t have it any other way honestly, fully stocked kitchen and outdoor charcoal grill are excellent for entertaining and dining. Might I suggest stopping at Taylor shellfish or Costco before boarding the Lummi Island ferry. As there are no gas station or restaurants on the whole island. There is one store the Islander but they close early. This store and full bloom farm will have everything meal wise you will need for meal essentials. Also I must stress respect the island and just decompress and chill and don’t operate on “city” time. Good Vibes only 👊🏼

Everything was as described; no surprises. This is a perfect place for a quiet getaway. The view of the Salish sea and Canadian and US mountains ranges were magnificent while we were there. We enjoyed exploring the Lummi Island Heritage Reserve sites. I recommend it!

Jennifer was a lovely and generous host. She was very accommodating with the short notice reservation we made. Walking in to the peaceful setting to find the propane fireplace lit was a delight. I also enjoyed the selections of novels - I didn't get the chance to read but I did add several new books to my wishlist. Would definitely stay again.
