118 High Street is a traditional townhouse situated in the historic conservation area of the delightful harbour town of Kirkcudbright. Full of character with high quality furnishings, interiors and a private enclosed garden. Kirkcudbright (pronounced kir -coo-bree) is one of Scotland’s most vibrant communities with events, exhibitions and activities taking place throughout the year. Ideal for families and groups wishing to experience the ’artist town’ of Kirkcudbright 118 High Street is an elegant and incredibly spacious property which comfortably sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms (2 king size doubles and 2 super king double/twin bedrooms) with 2 bathrooms and a downstairs loo. The property boasts a living room, separate kitchen/dining room and a bright, yet cosy conservatory with wood burner. A cot, highchair and stair gates are available for children. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. For those looking for more privacy or an escape for the children there is a well equipped games room. The enclosed south facing garden, leads from the conservatory, and is ideal for relaxing on the decking with a glass of wine. On street parking is available outside the property.
The house was beautifully presented throughout and it was clear lots of thought had gone into making the stay as pleasant as possible, from the hamper on arrival to the practical bits like dishwasher tablets! Comfortable beds and nice quality linen and towels were very much appreciated! The house is well located within Kirkcudbright and Jan had left lots of lovely recommendations for us which is a great touch. The house was spacious, the games room upstairs and lovely garden ideal for families.
Another fantastic stay at this property. Once again there for work purposes but we love using this house as a base. Would highly recommend!
Lovely, warm house in interesting town and area. Well-equipped, spacious kitchen. Attractive living room and conservatory. The children (3 and 6) loved the playroom.
We booked this property for work purposes as a group of 4 and it was more than adequate for us. Lovely house in a great location and couldn’t have asked for more to be honest. I am seriously considering taking the family up for a week to explore the area properly in the future and use this as a base.
There is so much to see and do in the town of Kirkcudbright and that's before you start exploring the local area! As part of the welcome pack I have put together a comprehensive (and growing!) list of ideas on what to do for all ages. Kirkcudbright, better known as the artists town has many galleries to explore. take a wander through the harbour, or up to Barrhill woods and see if you can spot the red squirrel’s. There are plentiful beaches just a few miles from Kirkcudbright and I like nothing better than a beach walk and or rock climb at any time of year! There are local hills to climb, bike routes to explore, many golf courses and that’s before you take tick off visiting the many tourist attractions. When you’ve done all that, or not, then 118 High street provides the most homely and comfortable stay to enjoy just being at 'home' too whether its lazing on one of the relaxing sofas with a good book from the book shelves, playing a game from the games cupboard or catching up on a good film on the Smart TV whilst the children amuse themselves in the games room. You can always take a wander next door or along the road and enjoy a beverage and some good food at one of the many pubs and cafe's in town.
Kirkcudbright is situated just a few miles off the A75 trunk road connecting the M74 to Cairnryan (where you can catch the ferry to Ireland) and Stranraer. It is well situated for exploring the beautiful and un-discovered region of Dumfries and Galloway.
