The open plan living space has a well equipped kitchen, dining table for four, lounge chairs and a gas stove. Conveniently located within the grounds of The Inn At Mazama and less than 200 yards to the Mazama Store. The Sunflower Yurt is a two bedroom yurt-style cabin strategically located on the nordic ski and mountain bike trails and near the main lodge of The Inn At Mazama. With 730 square feet of interior space, plus a large mudroom for wet clothing, boots, skis and other equipment, the yurt can comfortably accommodate 4 guests for a Mazama get-away. Enjoy mornings and evenings on your own spacious and private deck complete with a full BBQ for outdoor grilling. Both bedrooms have a queen bed. The large, modern bathroom comes complete with a beautiful tiled shower. The kitchen and living room are one open space with a vaulted ceiling and oculus skylight at the apex. The kitchen includes a gas range/oven, refrigerator, small dishwasher, microwave, and other small appliances. Plates, silverware, and cookware are provided. There is also a free-standing cast-iron propane stove and supplemental electric heat in the bedrooms and bath. Hot water is furnished by a tankless on-demand water heater. The cabin is located on the grounds of the Inn At Mazama, and set back in the pine trees 80 yards from Lost River Road. Guests can use the Inn’s pool and tennis/pickleball courts free of charge.
We had such a cozy, wonderful stay for a pre-Christmas long weekend in the yurt! Space was cozy, warm, and clean. Walking distance to adorable store, gear shop, and coffee stand. Skiing and snowshoeing right outside the door! And space equally lovely to simply hang out in reading and watching the snow fall. We had such a great time!
Our 2nd time at the yurt and won’t be the last. Jim makes everything so easy. Lots of peaceful walking as well as an ev charger that works great. Charming walk for breakfast to Mazama store. Highly recommend.
I have stayed at the Inn many times over the years and it's always great. Perfect mazama location, right next to the store, quiet and beautiful. The yurt was such a treat to stay in! It’s gorgeous, so well equipped and so comfortable! I would 100% recommend a stay here! Can’t wait to come back!
We had a wonderful stay. The yurt was lovely and comfortable. Jim was extremely responsive and helpful. Mazama is so beautiful in the fall. We would definitely come back.
Unfortunately, due to a wild fire I never got to this beautiful place. Yet I would like to write a review on humanness of the hosts who were able to cancel my reservation and give me a full refund because it wasn’t safe for my kids and me to be in a place where wildfire was happening one hour away from it. Thank you, Jim, for being kind and understanding! We will try again to come to the yurt in North Cascades National Park.
MAZAMA
The cabin is located in the grounds of The Inn At Mazama, just a short walk from the tennis/pickleball courts, swimming pool, and clubhouse (with private offices, co-working space, and yoga studio). It's also only 200 yards to the Mazama Store and the Methow Trails trailhead (for great hiking, mountain biking and cross-country ski trail options). In addition to the store with its great bakery and grocery, Mazama is home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals), the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski hire and lessons and the Mazama Public House.
NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK
Central Station is also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s under 20 minutes drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 25 minutes to Washington Pass and 30 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead. Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.
Getting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Bluett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter). Regional flights are also available at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee located 102 miles away.
Getting Around: Nearest winter trail is the Goat Wall Loop, while in summer Country Road takes you to the Mazama trail hub. The Mazama Store is 500 yards / 5 minutes walk. Winthrop is 14 miles / 18 minutes drive. Methow Motion provides a private car service throughout the Methow valley.
