We loved our stay at Rimrock Cottage! The space was comfortable and a wonderful home base for visiting the Painted Hills and John Day Fossil Beds. We got a kick out of the local flock of turkeys and seeing dozens of California Quail. Would love to stay here again in the future!
We had such a lovely time at the Rimrock cottage. The personal touches, colorful details, and artwork in the home and on the grounds made the place just feel so welcoming and peaceful. We loved drinking wine and eating dinner while watching the sunset outside. We also saw a young buck wander around happily eating the apples. The cottages are right up the road from Tiger Town Brewery, highly recommend for great food and brews! We hope to come again sometime, and thank you for your hospitality and great communication!

We loved our visit to Mitchell with our two big dogs! The cabin was comfortable for the number of people (3 adults, one toddler), and was reasonably stocked. Rooms were as described. The host, Barbara, is so very pleasant and kind. She and my husband had the opportunity to chat in German while my daughter played on the big rocks outside the cabin. Constructive: there were dirty dishes laying around the house when we arrived, one with a dead bug in it. We picked up and cleaned a bit when we arrived, but for the cleaning fees you don't expect it. FOR PEOPLE WITH DOGS: the posting implies free roaming space with fencing for the dogs, but there is no such space. There's a "fence", but it's on the cliff side and the area is shared with other rental cabins. No enclosed space or natural barrier into the road or neighboring properties. And my toddler or a smaller dog could have slipped through that fence and fallen off the cliff in SECONDS. Otherwise, great stay, beautiful area!

My mother Barbara and I have created one of the most adorable places in Oregon - The Painted Hills Vacation - Cottages & Retreat! We're are having a wonderful time hosting travelers from around the world since 2008 in our 3 european style cottages close to the famous Painted Hills here in Eastern Oregon. I'm an herbalist with a bachelors of Science degree from the Bastyr University in Seattle. I'm also a cook and have had my own restaurant together with my 2 sisters in Seattle from 1990 till 200. The place was called Sisters and a popular Eatery in the famous Pike Place Market in the heart of Seattle. My mother is a great master gardener and has created a beautiful oasis with the magic gardens surrounding the cottages. The serenity and beauty of the gardens are a special treat for all our guests. We both love to welcome travelers to this special area - a geological wonderland with no light or noise pollution where we are close to nature and the landscapes are breathtaking.
