The cottage was absolutely amazing in a stunningly beautiful location. It was extremely clean and well equipped for our stay. We even had a welcome gift of a fresh loaf of bread, fresh eggs, some cinnamon buns, flapjacks, and Yorkshire tea. We had chance to settle in and feel at home before we met Fran, and when we did she was really friendly and welcoming, and she gave us some local recommendations of walks and places to eat/drink. She also said that if we needed anything, we could either text or knock on her door. The cottage is only a short 20 min drive from Whitby. Overall we 100% recommend this stay, it made our honeymoon one to remember, and we will definitely be returning in the future. A big thank you to Fran and Andy for your welcoming hospitality. X

We had an amazing stay here, the location is unbelievable with breathtaking views right out of the living room and bedroom. Waking up to that view is one of the best things of our stay. The whole place is newly renovated with a high quality, not just renovated to make money, actual quality. The host was very friendly, even provided us with some small groceries (partially from local farm) and with a self baked treat. So amazing! It is really the perfect place to stay with two people and a dog. (without a dog it is still a great stay ofcourse😉)

We have just returned from a M-F break and we weren’t disappointed. We arrived to fresh soda bread, coffee, tea and homemade brownies which were delicious, our dog was left a bowl and some treats too which I thought was a really lovely touch. The place was immaculate and the views….. just stunning, better than expected. We also pre ordered dinner before we arrived - it was huge so lasted us for two evenings - steak and ale pie, potatoes and fresh veg followed by apple crumble and local vanilla ice cream, I would definitely recommend as everything was homemade and left in our fridge with clear instructions. The views from this property are outstanding and I will miss opening the bedroom curtains and looking out over the Esk Valley each morning. Will be saving as a favourite and will hopefully return soon.

We loved our visit. Everything we needed was available in the cottage. Fran met us once we were settled and pointed out a few local things we could do. We walked most of the railway path and were treated to a prolonged view of the local Barn Owl, hunting in the field just outside the patio doors. A trip to RSPB Bempton Cliffs was a real treat especially as we caught sight of some early Puffins. Would love to visit again when the Heathers are in flower.

Lovely spot nestled in between Grosmont and Goathland, plenty of walks for all abilities. Also great recommendations on local ammenities, having used a couple ourselves found them to be great 👍 Would recommend and stay again
