Chama is absolutely beautiful and the home is located on 4 acres of beautiful land adjacent a river. Everything about the location is perfect and would do it again. Check in and Check out process was a breeze. The only con was the really old oven. We burnt a few things starting off, but finally figured out to use the Radiant Heat setting, which seemed to help tremendously.

This is our second time to enjoy Hummingbird Lodge. Our first was during the summer which was as great an experience as this winter wonderland stay. We used the large fireplace every morning. The cabin is in a neighborhood of large lots that provides privacy and tranquility near Chama and the Brazos River. We love staying here when visiting our grandchildren and will be back! Donald is a great host!

The instructions for arrival were great. I wish the river area was marked better, since you are walking through private property for access. We visited during Fall so it was beautiful. The Los Brazos area is gorgeous. The bedrooms were clean and beds/bedding comfortable. I was not sure why there are extra clothing and shoes in the closets. There were not amenities like an iron and ironing board. We were getting ready for a wedding and had some items that needed ironing, but had to drive to town to buy an iron. I didn't message the owners, because he didn't respond about emptying an ash bucket (I had to clean the fireplace prior to using it) and wasn't sure where to dump the ashes.

Blissful retreat in the woods! The home is both rustic and amazingly modern. Donald’s directions to the cabin were so easy to follow. And Donald responded quickly to our inquiries. We are so glad we were able to spend an extra day here. We would have loved staying longer. We will schedule more time next time.
