Great place in the Kenton neighborhood of north Portland. Close to lots of great places and easy access to anywhere in Portland in 15-20 min. Would definitely recommend and will stay again when we’re in the area!!
This place is sooo charmingly decorated - lots of antiques. It definitely feels homey and comfortable. However, my husband is a larger man in terms of height so it was a challenge for him to get comfortable when sitting in the living room. The host is very kind and flexible. We would stay here again!!
Mark & Celeste were great hosts with a house in a perfect location to meet our family from Washington. We had easy access to the airport, Downtown Portland and Vancouver. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well appointed with everything we needed. The chef’s kitchen was great for our family of cooks. The outside deck was great for our morning coffee. We will stay here again next year when we visit again.
The place was immaculate and just as described in the pics. The beds are super comfy and the home was well stocked with linens, toiletries, etc. Rating 10/10 Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.
We enjoyed the house! It was lovely, clean and easy to spend time in with adults and children. The the location was perfect for us; easy to get to St Johns, close to restaurants and close to our son who lives there. The little park across the street with a basket ball court and play equipment for young children was great! Just a note that the stairs to the master bedroom, bath & laundry,(all wonderful!) are fairly steep. They are however well carpeted, well lit and there is a sturdy railing. We had a fun time and would not hesitate to return.
Kenton is bordered on the northwest by the St. Johns neighborhood, northeast by the Columbia River, south by Arbor Lodge neighborhood, west by the Portsmouth neighborhood, and east by the East Columbia and Piedmont neighborhoods.
East across the Willamette River from downtown Portland and just a short drive along North Interstate Avenue lands you in one of Portland’s smokin’ hot hoods.
Kenton is a neighborhood much unchanged from the 50’s, with mostly modestly-sized bungalows, cottages, and craftsmans–plus a sprinkling of grander Old Portland and Victorian mansions. Nearly every home is well maintained, and flowering trees and overflowing gardens are the norm in spring. Pride of home and neighborhood, and an upbeat, creative spirit pervade this neighborhood.
Kenton’s quaint downtown core lies along both sides of North Denver Avenue. So park your car, and take a stroll. There’s a lot to experience.
North Denver Avenue is an old-time, funky strip with an engaging mix of respected eateries (Swift & Union, Pizza Fino, Po’Shines, Cup & Saucer, Posie’s Bakery Cafe), an awesome meat market (Cason’s Fine Meats) a sprinkling of vintage/thrift stores (Give & Take, Kenton Antiques, MAB), and one great gift shop (Mantel).
Plus, just a few steps off North Denver Avenue, you’ll find two must-experience coffee shops (Prince Coffee and Presso Coffee Bar).
And nearby, several other must-experience Kenton one-of-a-kinds, Parkside Craft Beer, Disjecta Arts Center, Revive Upholstery & Design, Bamboo Craftsman, and Salvage Works.
