Our Mainsail Cottage rental is only 50 minutes from the Stanfield International Airport. It is also the perfect spot for a "stay-cation." We continue to follow the Covid cleaning protocols as laid out by our officials. Covid variants continue to be a cause for concern. Mainsail is a safe place where you need not come into close contact with other people. If you should have a need for a period of self-isolation we are very willing to do your grocery shopping and other errands for you during that time.
Mainsail has one bedroom with a queen size bed. In the large living area there is a comfortable double futon which has a privacy curtain that can be drawn at night. Four people can easily be accommodated.
Mainsail is fully winterized and would be a delightful retreat at any time throughout the year. Perhaps you can imagine having a Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's , Valentine's Day, Easter, anniversary or birthday celebration beside the ocean for a change. We have a very well stocked kitchen: you can do all your usual holiday or celebratory meal preparation easily here. In December, Christmas decorations will be in place to enhance the experience.
Our rental is located right in the heart of the village of Hubbards. From here it is a short walk to the mall, the Pharmasave, the Independent grocery store, various restaurants, gift shops, and the library. The busy seasonal Farmer's Market at the Hubbards Barn is a ten minute walk from here. Access to the entrance for the "Rails To Trails" route is very close by, guests who travel with their bicycles can enjoy a long safe ride on the extensive network of biking trails. There are no less than ten local sandy beaches in the area, between 5 to 30 minutes away from us. If it's too cold to swim, you might enjoy a beach walk instead. It is only a 30 minute drive to Halifax, and if you head in the other direction you can either go cross-country and be in the Annapolis Valley in less than an hour, or go further along the western shore to Chester, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, the Ovens National Park, and Bridgewater. Hubbards is a great central location for day trips around the area. The popular Peggy's Cove destination is about 40 minutes away.

You do need to have a car if you wish to explore further than you can comfortably do on foot.
