Emilia's cottage is absolutely stunning. The decor and all of the details are so thoughtful and idyllic. The location of the cottage is just a short drive from downtown Toronto and it is super close to the public beach if you want to play in the sand. There is a little strip of shops just a few minutes away — the peach slushies and ice cream are the perfect treat on a hot day! We loved the outdoor space at Emilia's and there is plenty of seating for lounging and relaxing. Having the second cottage is great for another family to enjoy the space with you. The water off the property is a little bit rocky, but there are smooth stone steps and a sandy area in front of the cottage in the water for you to relax in. Emilila has thought of everything, from recommendations on things to do around the property to instructions on how to access the water toys and provided everything in between. They even had a cute welcome box featuring locally sourced items like coffee, pancake mix & more. I would highly recommend a stay here!

This place was a great stay for our family of 7! I can't say enough good about the views and swimming...there are many deck platforms to choose from and you are situated right on Georgian Bay. The sunsets! There are some rocks and boulders in the water but also a lot of sand, plus is shallow, so the kids loved it. The cottage is beautifully decorated and welcoming. Yes as some others mentioned, it is HOT in the summer, but it is advertised as no AC, so we just spent more time in the water and had shady walks. We split up between the two cottages and at times had to use both kitchens and run the food back and forth, but wasn't a huge issue. Balm Beach is literally steps away as well, and walking to get ice cream and play some old school games at the arcade was a great way to spend an evening. All in all a lovely stay and Tiny is a wonderful town!

Great spot for kids. Walk to arcade, beach, restaurants. Two cottages was perfect for our two small families. Cottage has supplies for golf - 10 minutes away, tennis across the road, and water toys. We’ll be back. Thank you Emilia- for your hospitality

We had a really wonderful week at Emilia's place. The location is amazing! You're Iiterally just a few houses up from Balm Beach. In fact, we walked there along the beach in front of the house. We loved having our own private waterfront (though the public can walk across the rocks, it doesn't happen that often). It's rocky so you have to be a bit careful but there are some sand patches under the water further out. Having access to a couple kayaks and a SUP, plus lifejackets, was absolutely awesome!!! The outdoor space is spectacular here. So much luxurious seating. On the upper deck outside the sliding doors of the Lakeview cottage there are three different sets of seats that total seating for 12. Then there's a firepit with Muskoka seating for 6. Then a lower main deck with 4 cushy loungers, a wooden lounger and 2 rubber wire seats. Then a lower side deck with 3 wooden loungers. If you can't find outdoor seating, you're not trying! The views and the sunsets soothe the soul. Like I said, spectacular. The cottages themselves are "rustic chic" - stylish but not insulated, with no dishwasher or laundry machines (as is common with many coastal cottages) so bring enough clothing for your stay. The week we were there it was about 20-23C most days. Nights and mornings can be cool so make sure you have long pants, sweaters and socks, even in the summer. The first day we arrived was hot and stuffy though (around 32C) and there's no AC but even with the fans it was a bit hot at night. It was great having two cottages as we were two families. However, we love to cook and we found the AGA stove in the Lakeview cottage challenging to use (single burner, no temp setting except half or full). So we ended up cooking most things in the little kitchen in the Sandside cottage, then bringing them to the dining table in the Lakeview to all eat together (fit all 8 of us nicely). Also note there's no microwave for reheating leftovers. There was a BBQ by the Lakeview cottage that we never used though so that would probably have made cooking easier. Other than olive oil and salt and pepper shakers, there weren't really any pantry items but there's a Foodland a 10-minute drive away. Other notable things... Emilia was very responsive to our questions. There are luxury bath products and unscented cleaning supplies which I appreciated. The kids loved the Balm Beach arcade and the tennis courts and playground nearby. Cawaja Beach is a 15-min walk away and is less populated than Balm but there's a lot less parking (bring the permits provided in the guest manual). The Netflix cuts out from time to time (not uncommon in "the country"). Overall, a very enjoyable week in August for our two families. Thank you, Emilia!
