Our opulent and spacious GLAMPING tent definitely puts the ‘glamorous’ into ‘camping’. The Tasman Cloud is located on a working farm/equestrian facility 30 minutes from Nelson Airport & 15 minutes' drive from Motueka. It’s situated in a fantastic tourist location on the Great Taste Cycle trail not far from Mapua, Kaiteriteri and the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. View the sunset over the mountains from the warmth of the wood fired hot tub or just chill on either of the private decks. This large 'Safari' tent is ideal for two couples sharing or for two people preferring the very roomy space to themselves. It provides a different feel and experience from regular accommodation. The luxury camping, close to nature ambience, allows for a relaxing get away with most of the creature comforts. You’ll be off-grid although you wouldn't know it as Wi-Fi, USB charging, electric blankets and proper bathroom facilities are all part of the package. Privacy is ensured (apart from a possible visit from Maxine the elderly cat) as the farmhouse is out of sight and behind the sheds. The large interior and sheltered decks provide separate relaxation areas and comfortable respite from any unseasonable weather. For those sharing there is a wooden partition wall dividing the primary bedroom area and the large internal lounge which would be set up as the spacious second bedroom with another queen bed. See photos for this configuration and the comfortable sofa/day bed which can be made to a full single bed for a fifth person if required. The large front 'patio'/deck provides ample extra lounge area. The clean spacious kitchenette preparation area is well equipped, including toaster, kettle and coffee making options. However please note that there isn't a normal oven or hob, but a BBQ with rotisserie and side burner is located adjacent to the kitchenette for cooking hot food. The bathroom area has twin vanities, flushing toilet and two large showers; one is fully enclosed and the other is under shelter close to the hot tub.

Amazing stay! First time glamping and it was fantastic. Cozy beds and comfortable surroundings.
What a place! We chose this wonderful tented rental as it reminded us so much of being in Africa! Outstanding - one of the best places we have stayed anywhere in world. It is a self contained tented unit with full amenities supporting it including all normal requirements PLUS BEST HOTTUB in NZ and an outdoor shower to die for. We loved it. Suits a family as it is pretty open plan, but two couples are fine if you can manage hearing every word from the respective sleeping areas. A word about Patricia who was utterly superb in all her comms, kind and attentive help and hosting. An unforgettable couple of nights stargazing off grid. Wonderful.
This is a 6-star property. Lots of places get high marks, but there should be an extra star for places that are extremely special. Glamping at Darryl’s was one of the most memorable experiences of our entire 6-month trip. Absolutely beautiful “tent”. Incredible views out over the countryside. Friendly hosts. The is true indoor/outdoor living, with the kitchen (well-appointed), shower (great products), bathroom (loo with a view) and hot tub (our favorite part) all outside. My family of 4 spent a very happy 2 nights here, and loved it so much we extended to 3. Everyone at home will be jealous when you show them the pictures. 100% recommend booking here if you get the opportunity. So much better than all the other bland, forgettable AirBnBs out there!
Amazing spot for a local getaway. Next time I’ll take some outdoors toys for kids to play on the surrounding area. Beautiful sunset and night sky. Epic spa. Epic view. Amazing outdoor kitchen area. Great glamping experience. Tent was warm and cosy. Owners were super friendly and educated us on horses. Horses were a delight to watch, pat and groom. Highly recommend this spot and will visit again.
This place is AMAZING! The hosts are fantastic but the spot is incredible. The stars at night in this beautiful environment blew our mind. It was such a lovely stay, I’d recommend this to anyone. We didn’t want to leave!

You'll find space, privacy and beautiful views at The Tasman Cloud. There is little passing traffic as we are located on an off-road section of the Great Taste Cycle Trail.
You have the option to enjoy those views while walking or cycling to:
+ The highpoint 360 degree lookout (750m)
+ The local Tasman cafe (5.5k)
+ Mapua (14k) has more cafe options, restaurants, a few lovely shops and/or plan for a short ferry trip over to Rabbit Island to continue your ride
+ 'This 'side' of Motueka boasts Toad Hall (off road option 9k or driving 12k)
+ The Moutere Inn (12k drive)
+ Local vineyards
Being on the Great Taste Trail arriving by MTB, e-Bike, adventure bikes, horse or simply by car are all options. There is no public transport and a very limited taxi/driver service therefore if you'd like assistance with transport it is best to line this up with the hosts beforehand.
