Located on the fringe of the bustling market town of Holmfirth you can walk there from the house in under 10 mins where you will find an abundance of restaurants from Chinese, to Tapas as well as your traditional type pubs all within a stones throw of each other. The house is also a fantastic base to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside that the Holme Valley has to offer either on foot or by cycle, you can also venture into the beautiful Peak District National Park in no time at all.
Holmfirth and the Holme Valley is where the popular BBC TV series "Last of the Summer Wine " was filmed and tours of iconic beauty spots are available from the town centre
Golfers can choose a number of popular course nearby and anglers are welcome to use the local stocked lake near to the house
If hiking or cycling is your thing then you've come to the perfect location as the Holme Valley is famous for some of the best walks and treks in W Yorkshire

Walking into the town only takes 5-10 mins as its all downhill and a bus is available also to go into town or return which drops off right outside of the house.
We have put some of the lovely walks on offer as detailed guides in the guest book which you are free to use. If you wanted to venture a little further then you can drive to Glossop and the peak district town of Buxton in 30 mins from the house itself which is a very picturesque route.
The Holme Valley is also very popular for cyclists as the routes are some of the most stunning in the UK , that is why the Tour De France road race was staged here a few years ago !
Walkers and hikers will love the area which has lots to offer, even family groups with children will enjoy pottering around the local reservoirs that we have with safe designated footpaths around each of them
