John and Helen were wonderful hosts, they made us very welcome. The breakfast was first class . Our room was very clean and comfortable. With stunning views over the sea. Overall we had such a relaxing weekend

We enjoyed a really lovely stay. Our hosts John and Helen made us feel very welcome, adjusted breakfast to our dietary requirements, cooked to perfection. They were very helpful making suggestions of local attractions and bus and train times, and our room was spacious, very pleasant with a big comfy bed and wonderful sea view. Very happy to recommend as a seafront getaway in this pleasant small town, with friendly folk and beautiful sunsets, or as a base for exploring the peninsula, Snowdonia or along the Welsh coast. The Sherpa buses take you from Porthmadog as far as Caernarfon , Betws-y- Coed, around Snowdon etc at a very reasonable price, highly recommended. The beach is large if stony, but Blackrock sands can be reached on foot if the tide is out. Our highlight was the boat trip to the scarcely inhabited, transport free but nature rich historic Bardsey Island, but we were lucky to enjoy the sun and a calm sea.

It was a short mother and daughter stay (3 days) which was enhanced by the wonderful weather (25°C) with lots of trips (by car) to various castles and Portmeirion as well as beach walks with toe dipping. Unfortunately the last day was spoiled by Storm Betty which made our last night rather noisy, but nevertheless thoroughly enjoyable trip. Thank you, John, for a great breakfast and the Steam Train trip you suggested. 😊

J’ai été très heureux chez John et Helen. Ce sont des hôtes charmants. Leurs conseils sont très judicieux et pertinents. La chambre était magnifique et très propre comme tout le reste. Je ne peux qu’absolument recommander cet endroit.
