Joe met us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the house, and told us some of its history. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.

The vonHottensteins invite you into their rich, family history and to experience life on the old, family homestead. This charming farmhouse, with its pocket door, wallpaper border, old radiator heaters and beautiful wood floor is as much a member of the family as all the vonHottensteins that have been there before. The house layout is simple, functional and purposeful... as a farmhouse standing ready to accommodate anyone that might come through the doors. But it shows off Joe's incredible sculptures and photographs like an art museum. The dining room table sits ready for a great dinner with loved ones that is followed up with conversations that could last the night. The living room is ready to host an epic game night. The bedrooms are comfy and spacious. Joe and Joyce were incredibly gracious hosts and met us at the door after a wild storm pushed our arrival slightly past check-in to make certain that we got in safely and to give us a run-down of the house. Quality people.

Joyce and Joe were super accommodating when our flight was delayed. They even made the effort to meet us at the house, even though we didn’t arrive until after 9pm. We got to learn about the amazing history of the property and their family. The pictures are accurate, and it was such a treat to stay in a well appointed historical home! 10/10 would stay here again!!

The stay was perfect for our family that would have had to squeeze into a hotel room for a sports tournament. The location was convenient to the tournament site and the listing was as advertised. We enjoyed all relaxing in the living room with family. Joyce was responsive and come when we checked in to make sure that our questions were answered. Very nice people and a great place to stay.

It was a joy to stay at this farmhouse full of history. A perfect, quiet home close to Lancaster and Amish country. Exactly the right size for our family of 5. Everything was clean and convenient.
