Somerset West is conveniently located between Cape Town and the Cape Winelands and only 25 minutes from the Cape Town International Airport.
The beautiful Helderberg mountains and ocean are part of the magnificent scenery surrounding 5 Rembrandt. Situated at the top on the slope of the mountain and providing almost 360 degree views of the area, at night one can see the flashing lights of the distant Simonstown lighthouse.
MOUNTAINS
We are 3kms from the spectacular Helderberg Nature Reserve which offers magnificent hiking trails, from novice to experienced and provides a view of the spectacular biodiversity of the Western Cape.
BEACHES
The mile long Strand and beautiful Gordon’s Bay beaches are just a few kms away, with restaurants and shops along the beach front.
Hermanus with its annual whale visit is an hour from the guest house and a drive along the stunning coastal road will take you past Betty’s Bay with its penguin colony.
WINELANDS AND RESTAURANTS
The world renowned Cape Wine Route has a starting point in Somerset West and guests have access to wine tasting and culinary delight at several wine farms in the immediate vicinity.
GOLF
The world class Erinvale golf course offers access to guests (advanced booking required) as well as the local golf course and the Stellenbosch, Strand and de Zalze golf courses providing a good selection for golfers.
SHOPPING
For shoppers, there are a number of shopping centers very close by the guest house and excellent dining facilities which are reasonably priced by international standards.
The Cape Town International
Airport is just 25 minutes away and Stellenbosch and it’s attractions are close by.

Whilst it is safe to walk around the neighbourhood, this is a residential area and guests will need to either hire a car, or can use a taxi service to get to shops and entertainment areas.
