Ashutosh's house is exactly as depicted in images. Full of nature and fresh air. Quiet and rejuvenating. You will be greeted by Govind, who helps take care of the property and tended to our requests quite promptly, at least the ones in his control. Despite the fact that this is an amazing property, we faced issues that made our stay quite uncomfortable and hope this review will point it out to the owners. 1. The food. The biggest disappointment was a lack of kitchen use. At a secluded property as this, one must be allowed to cook meals. We were a group of 6 with an infant. It became too chaotic and stressful as the set up they offered the guests is quite off. We had to prebook and pre pay meals 2 days in advance. The food offered was too spicy/oily and just not home like. Also, no way to back out as we would have been foodless. Connection/communication issues made it impossible to change this during our stay. By the end of our trip, 4 of us got sick. A request to the owners, for a place where basic groceries are not in walking distance or a call away, you must mention it properly and offer a kitchen to cook. We generally love eating local, but if options are limited and instant order is not available, basic cooking would be needed. If we had access, we would have happily cooked ourselves and pre carried groceries etc. it is something we know as frequent airbnb travellers and love it. We can easily book a hotel but choose to stay in houses that have character and is built by a family. 2. The Internet / Connectivity The cellular service sucks, so does their dongle-service. That too is plugged in outside the main house in their machaan, which is impossible to get to post sunsets because of the creepy-crawlies and mosquitoes. On the other hand, if you are looking forward to cutting yourself off from civilisation during your entire stay, you will love it! Also, power cut offs were ample. Genset was provided, but it wasn’t automatic. At 2 in the night we had to call Govind, shut off Ac’s and then wait for him to start. 3. Attitude The thing is honesty. Mention openly the issues the guests might face, so they can be prepared. We would’ve booked despite knowing but if we are to face them without proper knowledge, it will hamper a seamless experience. We did communicate a lot of our issues to the host and the caretaker, but it didn’t appear if they were paid any heed to it. We had our college-gang reunion of 20 years, and boy! Are we taking memories back!
