Penny and Paul were fantastic. So kind and welcoming with no stress at all. An awesome welcome pack with homemade cakes and scones and essentials. They were understanding and allowed our little ones to go wherever they wanted in the grounds. A great place to relax with comfy beds and wood burning stove. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Wow what an incredible stay over new year with friends. From first communication, directions, check in and walk around (thank you so much for the welcome hamper, incredible cake and scones) to the most wonderful, peaceful, homely stay, Penny was the perfect host. Thank you so much!!!

Highfield House is absolutely lovely. Very comfy and homely, Penny and Paul make you feel right at home. They had even baked us cake and scones for our arrival, cooked us a delicious dinner one night and had provided all the essentials for breakfast. The house is located on the periphery of Alfreton golf course so is very quiet and rural but a quick drive to local restaurants and Tesco. A good base for visiting the Peak District and stately homes in the area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying at Highfield - we hope to stay again ourselves!
