You are only moments away (about 5 minutes) from the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, Whitewater Amphitheater.
Guadalupe River: The hot-spot for tubing, kayaking, fishing. You are only .5 mi. from the 4th river crossing. Only 1.6 mi. away from the popular "horseshoe" were you can rent or bring your own tube and go round and round the horseshoe shaped bend in the river. Set up a guided fly fishing experience on the river or go for a drive down River Road. This is a 12 mile scenic drive along the beautiful Guadalupe River with majestic valley views carved into the Texas Hill Country. This drive starts at the cabin and ends about a mile from Gruene Historic District and world famous Gruene Hall.
Canyon Lake: Swim, fish, boat, kayak
You are only 2 mi. from Canyon Dam and Overlook Park, where you can view the lake, walk down to the lake, or walk across the dam. There are boat rentals along the lake. Boat ramp #1 is 5 min from the cabin, Turkey Cove Boat Launch is 13 minutes from the cabin.
Major Attractions (waterparks, concerts, shopping, sightseeing): Whitewater Amphitheater is 1.5 mi. away for all your favorite summer concerts. Historic Gruene is 12 mi (18 min). In Gruene you can shop, sample wine, eat at the Grist Mill (built as a cotton gin in 1878), and listen to music at the oldest dancehall in Texas, Gruene Hall. Gruene is a true Texas experience. New Braunfels (15 mi/25 min) is a fun German town with lots of night life. Be sure to visit when the world famous Wurstfest is happening. Visit Schlitterbahn Water Park 15 miles/26 minutes away. Shop the Tanger Outlets San Marcos 19 miles/29 minutes away. Natural Bridge Caverns and Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch 22 mi/32 min away.
Don't forget you are in WINE country. Nearby towns like Wimberly, Gruene, and Fredericksburg have tons of wineries to visit. I would book a bus wine tour with Winding Road Hill Country Wine Tours and have them pick you up at the cabin.
Even though you are in the middle of everything, you'll feel relaxed, quiet, and stress-free when you walk into Corner Star Cabin and take a step back in time.
