Nestled in wooded surroundings, this neighborhood offers privacy with bushy borders and wooden areas on the lots. It is a short walk to the nearest Sitka Cross Trail access point and a quick trip down the hill to the grocery store. Sandy Beach is less than a mile out the road and is an attraction on sunny days and stormy days alike. If a trip to town is in the works you’ll find it’s about a 5 minute drive from the studio.

The general phrase is that ‘it takes 5 minutes to get anywhere in Sitka’ and that’s pretty much true. That said, a vehicle is probably the best way to keep the truth in that statement. Avis is the rental agency at the airport. There is a bus line, if that suits you, and they do have a schedule that can be found online at www.ridesitka.com with three routes and a pretty extensive range. There are also plenty of cabs if that’s more your style. Because of the hill a walk or bike ride can be a bit of a workout on the return trip to the studio. Really, it depends on what you’ve got planned and the time and resources you hope to put into your transportation.
