We didn't know the area so we tempered our expectations a little. We were blown away by the cabin and the location. The cabin easily fit our 6 adults with a really nice kitchen, two baths and a super comfy dining area/living room. There was also a great area in back to hang out which we didn't expect. We were right on the Kenai River and was able to watch fishing, birds and some mama bears with their cubs on the other side shortly before sunset. We were a quick drive to Kenai or Soldotna and about 2 hrs to Seward or Homer. We covered pretty much the whole peninsula. We had done planning already but Kathy was available to help line up what you'd want to do - especially fishing where the guide could pick you up right on the river out back as well as clean and bag of you wanted to bring fish home (reasonable fees apply). We planned this as a bucket list trip, but it was so amazing here we might well come back and if we do we'll try to come back to this place.

I highly recommend Kathy and the Caribou Cabin! Her place is even more beautiful than the pictures posted. You are right on the Kenai river! Kathy was extremely welcoming, kind, and attentive. Her outdoor fire pit is the BEST! We saw moose, caribou, and bald eagles while visiting. The cabin is comfortable, clean, and relaxing. We look forward to coming back next year. Thank you, Kathy!

This was a special place Kathy is friendly and attentive, wonderful company by an early morning river side fire with moose, sand hill cranes, eagles, and seals But the star of the fireside was Gaby the Labrador 😊 The cabin is delightful and we will be back!
