Beautiful guest suite with private entrance, this gorgeous upstairs space in Burlington's Old North End offers the comfort of a hotel in a lovely location to explore campus and the city like a local. With two spacious bedrooms and a living room complete with fridge, Keurig, and microwave, enjoy a quiet retreat to work, rest, or connect. Cozy bath with antique tub/modern shower and organic cotton linens. An ideal spot for a visit to UVM, UVMMC, Champlain College, and Lake Champlain. This gorgeous Queen Anne home was built in 1897 and remodeled recently; it is a clean, comfortable, and calm space suitable for adults and older children given layout and open staircase. When you enter, you'll find that the private front-door entrance area includes space for your bike or gear and has a full coat closet and mats for your shoes and boots. Upstairs, your sunny living room includes two west-facing windows with a view of Ira Allen Chapel at UVM; an arm chair and sofa, wool rug, side table, and bookcase library with floor and table lamps; and Keurig coffee maker, teas, cold beverages, and purified water for you as well as snacks in the pantry, complete with fridge/freezer and microwave. On each side of this living room are separate bedrooms: each bedroom includes a queen bed with high quality organic bedding and hypo-allergenic down-alternative duvets; two nightstands with table lamps; wool hand-knotted rugs; and ample closets (complete with extra bed linens and pillows as well as portable fans and electric space heaters for extra comfort.) The East Bedroom has a view of North Willard Street and the morning sun. The West Bedroom faces neighboring yards and gardens and sunsets. The front porch is a great spot for morning coffee or reading. You will find a well-established perennial garden in the back, with a private bistro set, in a fully fenced area. You are a short walk to fabulous breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and coffee or pho, tacos, or Indian curries for lunch; the Old North End is filled with fabulous food options as is Church Street, only a quick drive or walk away. Walk or bike onto campus, downtown, or to the lake - all just minutes away. Public buses stop right across the street; easy on/off for touring around BTV, to the airport, and as far as away as Montpelier. Private driveway for your use. Please refer to the Willard Street Guest Suite guidebook for our favorite food spots, activities, and parking tips.
Holly is a great host! The unit was exactly what we were expecting and was well maintained. Holly was super responsive - the only (very minor) issue we had was that the WiFi password didn't work, but she responded via text with the correct password in like 30 seconds. We couldn't ask for more!
Holly was great to work with, and her place is terrifically located -- walking distance to everything you need!
Holly was a great host! Very clear instructions, easy check-in and check-out, friendly communications, and a VERY clean space. The rooms were comfortable and the place was surprisingly quiet given the main road it's on - which was very convenient for our visit at Champlain.
Our lovely neighborhood is a really cool mix of diverse families, students, and retirees. Many of us are associated with UVM, Champlain College, or the medical center. We have a caring community that values your safety.
While there is no driveway parking, on-street parking is generally available nearby. Please allow time for securing a parking spot on North or South Willard or nearby Pearl, College, or Main streets. City parking garages are also nearby, 8 to 10 minute walk from downtown.
Burlington and specifically our neighborhood, the Old North End, are easy to navigate and are wheelchair-accessible. We are directly on the Green Mountain Transit bus route and City of Burlington Greenway bike route. Walk to downtown is less than eight minutes as is the walk to UVM campus. The Burlington Waterfront is a 12 minute walk. North Beach is a 20 minute walk or 4 minute car ride. You are a short 45 minute trip to Stowe, Mad River Valley, and Montpelier for skiing, hiking, and kayaking. Visit the Adirondacks by a gorgeous ferry ride and one hour car ride. Montreal is less than two hours away.

Hello! I am a long-time Burlington resident, raising my family here, and traveling whenever I can, too; Burlington is a special place to come home to. Happy to answer any questions about working or studying in our small city. I love all that Vermont has to offer outside: hiking year-round, cycling, downhill and backcountry skiing, kayaking. My husband Eric and I have lots of great day trip ideas to share with you as you explore VT and the region. I appreciate the arts, museums, knitting, gardening, and cooking. Let me know how I can help you find your way around!
