House can be accessed without a four wheel drive. The road leading up and the driveway are paved all the way up. One fairly sharp turn at the base of the driveway from the road may require one slight backup adjustment before heading up the drive for larger vehicles such as pickup up trucks/SUVs. We have a video to send to confirmed guests describing the ride up and assist with being comfortable with that ride prior to arrival. As it is a fairly steep and narrow ride up to the house, we do not allow trailers in the house driveway (please contact host to discuss questions/options on this), and do recommend guests arrive their first night before dark to get acquainted with the ride up . As we are motorcyclists ourselves, we are motorcycle friendly for experienced riders, but do not recommend riding double up the steep driveway. The weather is unpredictable here in the winter. Sometimes the road will ice and may be challenging, even with four-wheel drive. Please check weather conditions before your arrival, and hosts will be very flexible with weather-related issues upon guest contacting us to discuss.
Super comfy, cozy cabin with clear instructions. Super comfortable accommodations. Appreciated how well informed the hosts kept us. Great trip and great stay. Beautiful views!
Tom and Christine's home felt like home to us. It was exactly what was promised and then some. Their attention to details ahead of our arrival and during our stay (labels and note around the property) allowed for us to spend more time enjoying ourselves and the property more, rather than spending time flipping through a booklet trying to figure things out. I would recommend this home to a friend and/or family. Thank you.
House was great! View was great! Tom and Christine went above and beyond to accommodate me during the stay
We had an incredible stay at Tom and Christine’s for our honeymoon! Lovely home with gorgeous views of the mountains. The screened in porch was absolutely perfect for taking in the sights while avoiding the bugs. And Robbinsville is just a short drive away and so cute. Will definitely come back!!!
Peaceful and private property located in a small residential area of town on the mountain. A grocery store is within a 10 minute drive, and there are several small but delicious restaurants in Robbinsville. A short 25-30 minute drive into Bryson City, Suva, Fontana Village, and Waynesville offer a multitude of other eateries, local shopping , and the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad station. An abundance of outdoor activities are available a short distance drive away (rafting, canoeing, ziplining, horse back riding, boat rentals on Lake Santeetlah - to name a few).
A vehicle is necessary to reach locations away from house, and there are no public transportation options.
