We had a great stay at the 3 bedroom gristmill. The property was clean and large. We enjoyed the games room and water toys. The area is great for walking to restaurants and shops. With lots to do and see. The traffic was surprisingly loud and busy but did get mostly drowned out by the waterfall sounds from Rideau. The host was easy to deal with and very responsive. This is a great option for larger families and people looking to explore the Westport area.

We are 3 couples who get together once a year to catch up and the Grist Mill is the perfect place. It had everything you need ( and more) if you decide to make your own meals, or there are restaurants only a 5 minute walk away. The views of the Rideau and Foley Mountain from the balconies are lovely and the large patio area is very inviting. We really enjoyed the games room in the evening and the beautiful sunrises in the morning. Each bedroom has big bright windows, comfortable beds, individual thermostats for heating/cooling and your own 3 piece bathroom. All living areas are beautifully furnished and so spacious. The hosts checked in with us several times to make sure everything was okay and to answer any queries we had. We highly recommend the Grist Mill as the perfect getaway. Professional engineers, blended family for almost 20 years, with four children (3 girls, 1 boy). We love to travel as a couple and as a family although the latter is getting more difficult as our children are now either busy with university classes or working. We remind ourselves that everyday is a good day, some days are just better than others.
