Wonderful house with a great location. The beach is literally on your doorstep and it's a short beachside walk to Latsi.

Great location, very close to the beach. 1 mile to walk along the beach pathway to the port. The port is small with many restaurants and shops but its not your typical tourist spot. Its quieter and unspolit. The villa was good and spacious but it did lack kitchen work space. There is a prevoius review about the aircon not being sufficient in the lounge area but this is not the case, the aircon works well and the area was cool. We stayed in the month of July! The host was always responsive with questions, help and recommendations and the maintenance man was always on hand. Midstay clean was great too. We recommend this villa and would return.

The Aphrodite Villa is in a great position right next to the coast just outside Latchi. The villas are old but have been renovated so they are basically in good condition. Our main issue was that although some areas of Aphrodite villa have been renovated it still has the old single-glazed wooden shutters which are in bad condition, don’t close properly, with many gaps, peeling varnish and rotten in places. Not necessarily an issue most times of the year, but at the height of summer when we visited (August with temps around 35°C) this meant the villa was incredibly hot. The air conditioning units are not of the quality or correct size to suitably cool the villa, especially downstairs. This means you need to keep the shutters closed all day to keep the midday sun out of the rooms, thereby negating the wonderful views of a beach front villa. It also means to keep the temperature acceptable you will need to run the units all day which is not something we would ideally want to do from an environmental perspective. On the ground floor there is only one small A/C unit, covering the sitting room, dinning room, kitchen, which is in an open plan area of at least 60sqm and opened to the stairwell also. The A/C unit does not feel adequate for the square metres and does not cool the space. The owner refused to understand our position that we’d paid top rate for a beach front villa that was advertised as being renovated with air-conditioning which we just assumed would be of a suitable standard to do the job. We specifically booked a villa with A/C in the sitting room, which at the time was priced at £1,000 more (for the duration of the 9 nights) than the one without A/C in the lounge (Demetra). We paid £338.21 (€403) per night plus £515.26 service fee, and felt disappointed that we had paid so much money for something that wasn’t exactly as advertised. The owner seemed to think we were being unreasonable, suggested we close the shutters, use fans, and put the state of the shutters down to the villa’s “rustic charm”. We had to sit with the shutters closed for over four hours in the afternoons, around 2-6pm, which was not enjoyable as we paid a premium to have sea views. There were other issues such as the wifi being intermittent but the main issue was the reason we’ll not visit again. To justify the cost of this villa and to keep the environmental impact to a minimum the windows and shutters need replacing with modern double-glazed versions and suitably strong and efficient air-conditioning needs to be installed.

Great place, first line on the beach. On the beautiful northern coast. Fantastic place to stay, both kids and adults had a blast. Definitely recommend.
