Leys, which has Visit Britain 5-star status, is close to Lyme Regis, sea, countryside, SW Coastal Path and many other footpaths. The views are spectacular, as is the location with lots of outdoor space, ambiance, and many activities, including table tennis, snooker, boules, badminton, short tennis, table football, swing ball. Good for families and big groups (not hen and stag parties - sorry). Sadly, unable to have short breaks in school holidays. Minimum 7 nights during summer holidays. A peaceful spot for relaxing and star gazing - no light pollution. A bridlepath runs past the farmhouse, which joins a network of footpaths. 40-minute walk to Lyme Regis along River Lim recommended. Valley View Farm has a nature reserve and woodland area, which attracts a wide range of flora and fauna. It opened in July 2018, but is still in the early stages of development. The owner plans to install cameras, so that barn and annexe guests can view the wildlife from the comfort of the armchair, a la Spring Watch, and hopefully fit a canopy over the treehouse, so that there is the option to enjoy a night ‘on safari’ under the stars. This is very much a ‘work in progress’. Jill hopes that guests will feel free to improve the camps, tunnels, hides, trails, etc. and make new ones. There are lots of fallen branches and plenty of dead vegetation to help with structures - the ideal place to hone your bushcraft skills! Jill also provides checklists/clipboards and encourages guests to see what they can spot. Help from keen naturalists and birdwatchers in adding to the list would be much appreciated, and give future guests the pleasure of ticking off sightings.

We had an amazing time here at Leys as a family of three generations celebrating a milestone birthday together. We found that everything was immaculately clean. Beds were soo comfortable, and the rooms were beautifully furnished. We used the log burner to create a cosy ambience in the living area. Kitchen was very well equipped. We had two goes at using the pizza oven. - and we got the hang of making pizza in a wood fired oven. Our grandchildren (2 and 4) enjoyed the swings, playing Boules and feeding the sheep. Lyme Regis has a lovely feel to it, and we enjoyed good food and walking along the seafront. All in all, the perfect location for a family get-away, whatever the weather. Jill was on hand to give us lots of advice on how to use the oven, and gave us suggestions on places to visit. Many thanks to Jill for your help. We hope to be back another time!

The accommodation was amazing. A beautiful open living space which was perfect for eating and socialising. It is in a beautiful spot, and the walk down to Lyme Regis is lovely which takes you to the Millside Courtyard. Jill is a perfect host and nothing is too much trouble. I needed a ticket printed out which I'd forgotten to do and she sorted it out for me with no bother at all. We would highly recommend this place and Jill as a host.

Jill’s place was absolutely stunning, a unique, beautifully converted barn with lots of light snd space and all the amenities we could need. The views are stunning and there’s plenty to do right on the doorstep from games to walks to feeding Flossie and Flo (the very friendly sheep!). Jill is a great host, responsive and friendly - she even lent me some wellies so I could navigate the muddy hill. Thoroughly recommended!

We had a lovely time in Jill’s beautiful barn, it was in a great location and we enjoyed exploring the local area. The barn had everything you needed and more, it really was lovely. We hope to visit again one day soon
