Beautiful cottage and secluded. Great communication from the host. Couldn't recommend more for escaping the fast pace of life. Would go back.

This house is exactly what we were looking for: Authentic, cosy and peaceful. Highlights: Lonely setting with great views but only 5 mins away from A590. Huge garden with outdoor seating sheltered from north and west winds. It is a real place that is part of the area and not just a rustic looking tourist accommodation. Nice bedrooms and very cosy living room with fireplace, games and books. All necessary OS maps and lots of attraction leaflets available. The field below is where the cows give birth. We saw several newborns, very exciting for the kids. Very well equipped kitchen and big refrigerator and freezer. What to consider: Kitchen is small but well organized. Drive to the house is as stated not easy in low cars. It is also steep and can post a challenge when wet. However we got to the house fine every time and car can also be parked a minute walk from the house. Going for a walk straight from the house offers great views but is always shared with cows, sometimes a lot and also frisky ones so at some point we did not feel save any more to cross their territory. No sun in the evening as the house is on an eastern slope. Sally is a wonderful host and showed us everything upon arrival in person and even came by the next day to give more advice on activities to do. For the price it offers a lot if this is what you are looking for and if we come back to the area we would love to stay here again.

A beautiful old cottage in the south Lakes, incredibly peaceful away from the road and just one house and a farm further down the lane. A great place to explore the south Lakes from and some very nice walks just outside the door as well. Sally was incredibly helpful and communicative arranging extra parking, clear directions to find the cottage, advice on where to eat etc.

I highly recommend Sally’s place for a great family holiday. My family with 5& 10 years olds children didn’t have a dull day or night at this place. 5* We were so glad to be hosted by Sally.
