Our Yoga Center is perched on the top floor of our spectacular three-story Jungle Lodge, with 360 views of the canopy and lagoon with monkeys and sloths as your neighbors. With 700 sqft of floorspace, there is plenty of room for 16 to practice comfortably. The Center is part of the Cocovivo eco-retreat that includes six rustic guest cabins bordering the most vibrant coral reef in Bocas, which at night transforms into a bioluminescent wonderland. Welcome to our jungle paradise! CocoVivo sits on the Southern tip of Isla San Cristobal in the Bocas Del Toro Archipelago, a pristine paradise untouched by roads. Nestled between the magic of the jungle and the spectacular beauty of a coral reef, CocoVivo is an eco-conscious paradise where guests can connect with the beauty and biodiversity of the Bocas while still indulging in maximum relaxation. In each of our waterfront cabins, nature is right at your doorstep. Prepare to fall asleep to the sound of bioluminescent waters lapping beneath you and wake up to magical sunrises and sloths hanging out in the mangroves just feet from your window. Our cabins are all within five minutes walk of our communal Reef Center which is the gathering place for guests and staff alike. At the Reef Cabin, you’ll find free snorkel equipment, kayaks and standup paddle boards, hammocks, a diving board, lounge space, and our communal dining table where guests can enjoy mouth-watering meals prepared by our private chefs. Our menu features innovative fusion dishes with ingredients grown right here on the property. At the Reef Center, you can also fill up on drinking water, help yourself to fresh fruit, and purchase cold sodas and beers. A perfect place for co-working, the Reef Cabin also has the strongest wifi signal on the property. Magical encounters with flora and fauna are a daily occurrence here at CocoVivo, including… ANIMALS: Sloths, howler monkeys, kinkajous, frogs, dogs, and dolphins. PLANTS: CocoVivo got started as a reforestation project 18 years ago, and today the forest is flourishing. Keep an eye out for coconuts, avocados, many varieties of bananas, pineapples, mangos, biriba, soursop, water apple, guava, limes, and many, many more.
We had a wonderful time here. The hosts kindly accommodated us despite being quite booked up, resulting in us staying in three different cabins over our four nights. The property was exactly as described and we loved each of our cabins with the tasteful decorating touches. Hill House had beautiful views and there was even a litter of puppies to greet us. The food was terrific and thanks, Carmen, for offering an alternative to fish when I'd been eating little else before our arrival. Lazare also made a tasty pasta one night. Meals are served family-style at a large table and we met guests from many other countries. We kayaked across the bay one afternoon for the delicious chicken, as the time between breakfast and dinner can sometimes feel a bit long. Bar service was informal with tabs kept on a blackboard. Be prepared for little guests in the showers and toilets. We noticed crabs munching on our soap and were often visited by geckos in our rooms. While there were fewer fish than on some other reefs we've snorkelled, the coral, anemones, and starfish were plentiful and strikingly colourful. At night, it was extraordinary to jump off the dock into the water in darkness and experience the bioluminescence. There are several trails on the property for viewing sloths, parrots, and other birds. While we didn't see any monkeys during our time, the howlers put on quite a chorus. Dolphins were definitely around but somewhat elusive. We didn't see much of Lazare during our stay but Carmen was available if needed and helped cook and serve at mealtimes. She was a sweetheart, very friendly and accommodating. Many thanks to both of you.
We simply had a fantastic week with our hosts Carmen and Lazare being so nice and relaxed together with an environment around us which is quite something extra. From here you are able to explore the Bocas archipelago and still enjoy your own quiet corner filled with jungle, sloths, dolphins and turquoise swim water. If you are in search of the lost paradise and like us often think of other places where development went too far you have found your place! Magnus & Susann
Carmen and Lazare were amazing hosts and were able to cater to the needs of our group of 7! We took day trips to local beaches and ate AMAZING meals onsite. The price was beyond reasonable and I would highly recommend their property for anyone looking to have a unique and fun adventure close to nature. I would also recommend doing the jungle hike - it was so fun seeing what the island had to offer.
This neighborhood is WILD!
You really become PART of the eco-system when you stay at CocoVivo.
We take sharing this paradise very seriously and we want to keep it comfortable for our animal neighbors too. The fish, the dolphins, the sloths, the howler monkeys, the herons, the parrots, the kinkajous and the iguanas were all here before us, and luckily still are. Please be conscious of trash you bring; remember that cold beer and soda are available for a reasonable price, in bottles that will be reused. No need to bring beer/cans/plastic bottles.
Most sunscreens can harm the coral reef; if you plan on using sunscreen when snorkeling, swimming, or kayaking, please bring reef-safe sunscreen or ask us for it.
Once you arrive at CocoVivo, remember, we are in a remote area on an island with no roads. There are no shops, supermarkets, or anything like that. There is plenty to do on the premises, but if you get island fever, we do offer some tours around the area. Have a specific destination in mind that’s not on our list of tours? If there are enough interested guests to make the trip cost-effective, we are delighted to take you on an adventure just about anywhere you want to go. You may also be able to tag along on a speedboat trip back to town, for a small contribution for gas. If you must go to town on your schedule, you can arrange a private trip with our hosts for $60-$100 depending on which boat is available.
自我介绍
We love exploring the world and its people, ideas, and minds. In 2002, while driving from California to Patagonia, Ulrich fell in love with Bocas del Toro and bought a semi-abandoned cattle farm on the shore of a remote tropical island. Together with locals, we planted thousands of trees, all native species, to help offset the CO2 emissions my travels have produced, to restore the degraded environment, and to give future generations access to the beautiful hardwood lumber that used to be plentiful in Bocas. Now that we have restored the land to a healthy, balanced ecosystem, together with some amazing friends, we set up a unique eco retreat, an experiment in combining the inspiring experience of raw nature and life in the tropics with amenities that make the place accessible for adventurous spirits who want to experience a different lifestyle, for days, weeks, or month. Come visit!
