April was there to greet me when I arrived and she left fresh eggs on the refrigerator. The farm and cottage are exactly as advertised. The setting is serene and peaceful. I really enjoyed getting a glimpse on the Wisconsin countryside and I have a true appreciation of the hard work and responsibility necessary to maintain a farm. I found the farm to be conveniently located for a number of destinations. (Ex : Mineral Point and New Glarus) The accommodations are spacious and comfortable.

April and Steve were great hosts! We had a comfortable living space and comfortable bed. We got more space than we were expecting! The area around April & Steve's home was the cherry on top, beautiful views and scenery.

We loved staying at April's farm! It was quiet, clean, peaceful, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. April was kind enough to let us use her phone, as we had no T-mobile service there, and to loan us detailed maps of the area. She spent time with us when we requested help and also when we asked to see the pigs she raises organically and sustainably. April explained a lot about her methods and allowed me in with the animals --which was a treat for this former country girl. BTW, the pigs don't smell. We also enjoyed her farm fresh eggs and bacon for breakfast each day, along with the tomato and kale she left for us. Our only disappointment: both nights were overcast and we couldn't see the stars. A trip back for that is called for. Thanks, April and Steve!

Steve and April were wonderful hosts! We stayed in their cottage, which is a beautiful, sprawling space that was both clean and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bed was comfortable, and the living space was ample. The property is stunning, and is nestled between beautiful rolling hills that are lush with tall grasses and sun-kissed trees. We had never seen Wisconsin before, and this beautiful location really knocked our socks off. Their working farm is really cool, complete with beautiful, happy pigs and friendly roaming chickens. It was such a pleasure to meet Steve and April. They were so kind and laid back. They made it a point to talk to us about their farm and the area. April also took time to not only to show us through her gorgeous gardens, but to pick some fresh greens for us to take, and to teach us a bit about different plants and edible weeds. As a vegan, I really appreciated this place because it was a great reminder of what a healthy relationship can exist between humans and animals on a farm. They take excellent care of the land and their animals, and have a very healthy and environmentally conscious system of living. They encourage composting and recycling while you are staying with them. For the omnivores out there, be sure to buy some of their fresh pork and eggs. Danny bought an excellent pork chop and is so excited to eat it! We would highly recommend you visit Steve and April's cottage. While you're in the area, be sure to stop by the New Glarus Brewery that is a few miles down the road. Great beer!

My girlfriend and I had a great experience with Steve and April. We stayed in the "Guest House" and they were very kind people. I know they have two rooms in the main house, which is what we paid for, but the guest house was open, so we paid about $122, which was definitely worth it. April made a great quiche in the morning and we found morels and nettle plant on the property to cook for dinner. Please understand this is a farm. It's clean, but not spotless and if you're looking for a luxurious experience, this isn't it. If you're looking for a unique getaway, this is it. Very cool place.
