PRIVATE WITH LUSH SURROUNDINGS & INCREDIBLE VIEWS. Casita Vivace is located on the outskirts of San Ramon in the quaint area of Magallanes. It sits at the end of a country lane on 5 private acres of lush semi-tropical gardens, surrounded by rolling mountains and coffee fields, with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean's Bay of Nicoya. The Casita is part of Hacienda Vivace, a working coffee plantation. Beaches, coffee/sugar tours, zip-line, zoo, hot springs and volcanoes are minutes away. The luxurious, immaculate Casita Vivace is a separate 2-story, 2000 sq. ft. custom-designed house with front and rear patios and balcony, that sits at the end of a country lane on a 5-acre coffee plantation. Guests have access to the entire house: ground floor bedroom, central living area, loft family room and bedroom, bathroom with outdoor and indoor showers, gourmet kitchen with breakfast island, dining room, and laundry. The Casita is fully furnished and all utilities, high-speed 6G internet and private parking are included. Guests share a beautiful, indoor solar heated lap pool inside the Hacienda.

I wasn't going to write a review, because we got to know Andy and overall he seems like a nice guy. but since things took an unexpected turn... There were several places available to stay, but this one was the only place available that supposedly had a pool. I paid well over our budget for that alone. When we got there, Andy said that he didn't know it was still advertised as " with pool" , as it should have been changed 3 years ago. Additionally, it said that the property is on an active coffee plantation and tours are available. Well, there is A coffee plantation on the neighboring property...ish. Internet didn't work for about a week. Eventually my husband, who works for internet company in US spent about half a day to help Andy fix the internet. He fixed it, but needless to say, that'shalf a day of our vacation. At the end of the stay we were asked to pay 13% tax, which I admit, I overlooked in the fine print. So that was an additional cost we didn't know about.
La maison est très bien située. Elle est à 7 minutes de San Ramon et le chemin pour s'y rendre est facile. Nous avons apprécié le déjeuner qu'Andy nous a préparé le matin de notre arrivée. Andy est un excellent cuisinier. Il adore aussi jouer au picket ball. L'endroit est parfait pour y voir les couché de soleil du Costa Rica. La maison a tout ce qui faut pour y séjourner pour une longue durée. Nous y avons passé 1 mois. La maison est propre et le jardin est magnifique.
Nancy & Andy are fantastic hosts. They were helpful and accommodating throughout the entire trip. The house is equipped with all the amenities needed for a long term stay. The area has great restaurants, climate, and amazing sunsets. If you are in the San Ramon area, definitely check this place out.
Nancy and Andy are amazing hosts and the Casita became our home away from home. If you love to cook, the kitchen has everything you need. Most appreciated were the sharp knives. We were there for 6 weeks. Nights were cool and sunsets became a tradition. If you love pickle ball, you are in for a treat. Andy loves to play and you’ll find him not only a great cook and gardener, he is well connected in the world of pickle ball in CR. I can’t say enough about how gracious and kind both Nancy and Andy were as hosts.
Nancy and Andy were great! The hacienda was exactly as expected from the pictures. We had an emergency while staying there, and Andy was able to help us get the help we needed when calling 911 was no help to us. The area is beautiful and very quiet. . Loved it!!

The area is quiet and private, yet 5 minutes to downtown San Ramon.The Hacienda is a working coffee plantation with dramatic white coffee flowers in May and cherry red coffee berries in November through January. The Hacienda gardens are tended with care by the owners and provide an ambiance of beauty and tranquility.
The Hacienda is 45 minutes from San Jose International Airport and 5 minutes from downtown San Ramon. Buses are available between these locations. Or, we can pick you up at the airport and arrange a car with driver to tourist sites. San Ramon is a 'muy tranquilo' provincial town of 20,000 that welcomes travelers with a graceful sense of pride and slow pace of life. The town offers it all -- from outdoor markets, supermarkets and shops, to restaurants and bars, 3-cinema theater, museums and art studios, a major hospital, and the University of Costa Rica.
Casita Vivace is within minutes of most tourist attractions: from the volcanoes Poas and Arenal to Manuel Antonio Biological Reserve on the Pacific, pristine swimming beaches, sailing day trips, canopy tours, sugar cane and coffee plantation tours, horseback riding, or hiking and bird-watching in the National Parks. Nancy Sperry and Andy Robinson are a retired married couple from Santa Cruz, California. Andy is a former cabinet designer and Nancy a former Silicon Valley marketing executive. We designed and built the spectacular 5,000 square foot, contemporary Spanish Hacienda Vivace and 1800 square foot Casita over the past 3 years. We completed the apartments Vista Vivace and Bella Vivace in 2017. Our architect fondly refers to our endeavor as "Andy and Nancy's art project". We are active members of the Community Action Alliance (CAA), a non-profit organization of expats and Costa Ricans in greater San Ramón volunteering together for community development and enrichment. We do community outreach projects and fundraising for organizations such as San Ramon scouts/girl guides, local orphanage, children's cancer foundation, local music school instrument donation program, and more. We also host fundraising events such as Oktoberfest, Christmas Madrigal, and St. Patrick's Day.
