Interior of the home was small but charming, especially the upper floor. Spiral staircase is a bit sketchy, but there are well-placed railings and bars for safety. In the bathroom, there was a bar of soap by the sink and another in the shower. These were unwrapped and appeared to have been used by previous guests. I always bring my own toiletries and am glad I did not have to rely on these. (Liquid soap was also available.) The outdoor views overlooking the river were quite beautiful. However, the spaces could use a good sprucing up (decks needed to be swept off, tables, swing and chairs needed to be wiped down). I am a West Virginia Creek Rat...live on a lovely creek which is a smaller version of this home/property. I know how hard it can be to maintain outdoor spaces that are near the water, but no excuse for these areas not to be cleaned up for paying guests.

We had a wonderful stay here. We were lucky to meet both the hosts and found the couple to be very warm, welcoming hosts. Bill went the extra mile of greeting us despite our after-dark arrival, encouraged our young boys to befriend sweet Chloe their golden retriever, and came out to personally outfit us for kayaking on the river. There were more swings, fire pits, patios, and pleasant outdoor amenities on site than we had time to use, even in three full days. The highlight was the dock, complimentary kayak and life vest use, and easy river access — all of which made it possible for the boys, my wife, and I to enjoy the river first-hand. All four of us loved this home and would return here in a heartbeat. Thank you!

This was a great weekend getaway for my girlfriend and I. Our golden retrievers got to make a friend with their golden retriever and we would love to come and stay again! 5/5 stars all around!

Serene, cozy, clean cottage. We loved exploring the history and geography of Harpers Ferry. We very much appreciated being allowed to check out later on Sunday which allowed us to kayak on the river which was amazing!

Great spot. The river is right there and it’s an easy drive into Harper’s Ferry and Shepherdstown. William was very responsive - I forgot my dog’s leash and he provided one! We will need to come back in the summer and take advantage of the river and all the outdoor amenities!
