One should be careful when advertising a “retreat”. A poorly converted crawl space under the house is not a retreat. No AC in the QLD heat. Told to leave the doors open and fly screens shut to get breeze. No way to lock the doors. Blinds don’t work so at night the place filled with midgies and mosquitos drawn to the light. Kindly given a loaf of bread on arrival but no way to cut it. No knives. Dirty mismatched cutlery and glasses. Tiny fridge that fit nothing. No kitchen. Illegal wiring ti the light. Dead cockroach in the kettle. Bathroom door doesn’t close. Dusty old linen. Spider webs and dead bugs. No designated parking. Told to squeeze into a corner next to a single carport so the owner could use the single space and we don’t get in the way. No shower rose on the shower. Host was polite and the gardens lovely but absolutely not a quality stay. A hot, unsecured, dark, dusty crawl space is all I will remember.

Great place to stay. Joelle was very helpful and kind. She took care of our dog while we were in the restaurant. The place is very clean and peaceful. We will definitely come back soon. Thank you 🙏

Joelle from the first contact of communicating was very responsive. She catered for our current needs with ease and made us feel very comfortable in our stay. her place was tidy and clean and an oasis from the hustle of the Sunshine Coast. Nice walking area and farm animals to keep you busy in nature. Great value for money and a place we will be happy to come back to. 😀

I absolutely loved my stay Cicadas Retreat! You are one with nature, it is peaceful and a beautiful experience to have the wildlife such as birds singing around you. Joelle's studio is cozy and I felt right at home, she is a wonderful host, providing homemade bread, fruit and snacks. I loved her fire pit and made dinner out on the veranda and had a cool down everyday in her cooling pool. Anyone who stays with Joelle will love their time.
