A wonderful, beautiful and peaceful place. When you arrive the house looks a bit old but when you open it you see how beautifully it has been redone on the inside. Very high quality, beautiful woodwork and beautiful interior. It was spacious and very well equipped. We were only 2 people staying here, but it could easily handle 4 people and still feel spacious. It is also very private and super quiet. Tanja, our host, was also very responsive and made some good recommendations. Two small things to note, which are minor. It is a bit off the beaten track and the road to here is twisty and winding, so perhaps not best if you plan to use this as a base to tour from, but perfect if you want to rest and relax. We did a blend of sightseeing and resting here, and for that it was perfect. Second thing, there is a power line in front of the house / in the view to the beautiful coastline, but you get used to is soon, so not a big deal.

This home will make you cancel any plans to wander far. It has it all…beautiful views, walking trails, beach access, and super comfortable living/sleeping space to watch the rain as we did one day of our stay. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity with a great kitchen and outdoor seating with terrific views, you’ve found it. We hope to return!

Private. Great place to get away for a few days. Booked this as part of a longer trip to NZ and it's a great location if you want to make a day trip to some of the other beaches in the north or just do some exploring. Free jar of Tahi honey was the icing on the cake!

Tahi will hold a very special place in our hearts. It was a perfect week to relax, enjoy and reflect. We loved the Estuary, Forest and Boardwalks but the highlight for us was the private walk down to the beach . Thank you to the very friendly and helpful ladies from the office who pointed us in the right direction. Also a big thank you to Lesley who was always responsive and very professional. Thank you Tahi the work you are doing at the reserve has been quite thought provoking for ourselves. Thank you

Loved our stay at Hiwi. The house was immaculate and the kitchen super well kitted out. The views over the ocean were fab and it was amazing to be surrounded by such gorgeous bushland and birds. Hiwi was set up a driveway so extremely private. Would highly recommend.
