From Madeira to Mars apartment is a spacious and airy apartment with a lovely garden in Funchal. This is a fully equipped apartment with a bedroom with private bathroom. All amenities are available including free wifi, cable tv, microwave and private parking space for 1 car. This apartment is a personal reflexion of what I love including travel, books, design plus a garden with a chill out area and flowers to enjoy. It has also a garden with a nice lawn, flowers, a few vegetables and a nice area to relax in. There’s a shared fully equipped kitchen including a kettle, a coffee machine, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washer and a dryer. Sofia’s place was awesome. Very comfortable and clean. As described, home sits on a steep hill and is walkable to town. About one mile each way. We have had several great hosts on our journeys but Sofia is our favorite. She is kind, loves her city and was very helpful with suggestions. Highly recommended. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Sofia is an amazing host! We really enjoyed our stay ! Sofia helped us a lot, she recommended the best places to visit in Madeira! The apartment is very pleasant, cozy and clean. Very practical also, cause it is next to a supermaket, and almost 15 min away from the city center by feet. Thank you very much Sofia for your kindness!
Alloggiare a casa di Sofia è stato come sentirsi a casa. La casa era calda e accogliente, la zona facile da raggiungere ed estremamente tranquilla. Abbiamo trovato un piccolo angolo di paradiso dove rilassarci dopo le lunghe giornate di trekking. Sofia è stata un’host impeccabile: gentile, sempre disponibile, dispensatrice di ottimi consigli e suggerimenti. Sofia has a lovely home. We had the privacy we needed but also enjoyed the shared space, especially her beautiful graden. 😊 The neighbourhood is quiet and nice, you can easily get out of town or get to the city centre. There's also a little bakery downstairs. Sofia is a really great host. Good vibe, friendly, helpful and she has great recommendations for places to see/ activities/ restaurants & bars. We truly enjoyed the time spent at her place. 🤩
For the first time in all our travels, we chose this type of accommodation - a room in a condominium. And we are thrilled! We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. It was beautiful, clean and cozy here. The apartment is in a great location - you can easily get to any point by transport or on foot. Sofia is an amazing hostess and very interesting person! She is very warm and made us feel like we are at home. She really loves people and Madeira, sincerely cares for each of her guests and does everything to make their impressions of the island remain fantastic. She always found time to recommend new routes, local cafes and helped with solving many issues. Highly recommend this apartment for anyone! We would definitely stay here again

The apartment is located in the historic area of São Pedro.
There's a few cafes, a supermarket, nearby as well as several attractions in this area such as Santa Clara Monastery, Cruzes Museum or Museum - House Frederico de Freitas.
Pico Fortress is also a few minutes away from the apartment and offers a nice cafe, a playground and beautiful views of the city.
By foot:
It takes you about 20 minutes walk to reach the Cathedral of Funchal (downtown). Beware the apartment is located on the top of a hill so it's a steep walk. If you prefer take the car or a bus.
By bus:
The Bus stop is only 2 minutes away from the apartment.
By car:
To get from/to airport, it takes about 30 minutes by car.
You can also take the aerobus, get off near the marina and take a taxi or bus 15 to the apartment.
If you’re planning to rent a car, you’ll have access to a private parking space in the building. By car it takes you only 5 minutes to be in the heart of the city and about 50 minutes drive to the North Coast of the Island.
Access to the main highway (via rápida - VR1) from the apartment is only 2 minute away by car.
Great location to explore the Island by car and experience Funchal lifestyle.
