This location offers a space to relax and restore, a space to share and play and a space to explore from. This heritage house offers all the convenience of modern life so friends can spend time together and have private space when wanted. We had the best experiences, lost track of time and enjoyed our stay.

This cottage is extensive noisy because there is very closeby train track. We stayed for three nights and we couldn’t sleep at all with lots trains passing by during day as well as over night. The bedroom in the first floor is also very noisy because of the septic system. The host was constantly checking the security cameras and texting us and we felt zero privacy.

The Birchwood at Bala property was unbelievably nice and conveniently situated within walking distance to all that Bala has to offer. The cottage is very well decorated with a good layout for four couples. All the amenities were so nice, especially the hot tub, campfire with Muskoka chairs, and the boat dock. Easy check in and check out. Would definitely recommend.

This place has almost everything going for it. Beautiful, luxurious, clean, well furnished, and really well maintained. The hot tub, fire pit, and sunroom off the back are superb. The dock is well built with shade cover and lets you easily go paddle boarding or rent a boat / jet ski. The vicinity to Bala's shops is so close you never need a car. It's great for couples, friends, and families. There's only one major drawback, and that's the closeness to the train tracks, which is the flip side to all that convenience. If you're a light sleeper, you will definitely get woken up a couple of times a night by the train that roars through as it's a popular track for cargo. If this doesn't bother you (and some of us were OK with it), then it's a pretty special place.
