We have rented cottages in Muskoka for over 25 years. This property was AMAZING!! Perfect for our family reunion group of 18 people ranging in age from 15 to 80 yrs old. Family from BC and NY state were experiencing Muskoka for the first time and loved it! There was plenty of space for everyone to spend time together and to spread out when desired. The setting is incredible, perched among beautiful trees with great views of a wonderful lake. All the cottages on the grounds were very clean and fully equipped, exceeding the descriptions and our expectations. The owners are obviously culinary enthusiasts, as the kitchens had everything you could imagine. Deborah was an amazing host from the initial booking, planning our stay and a during our stay. She was extremely responsive and super helpful. We felt privileged to share her family property. Everyone in our group, young and old loved the property and would all highly recommend it. Thanks Deborah for an incredible stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Deborah’s place - it has everything you need while you spend time inside and outside. The property is beautiful and so is the lake. Definitely one of my favourite lakes, the water was super clear and great for swimming and we had a fun time with all the water toys. Deborah was lovely to deal with and extremely responsive. Would recommend.

We are a european family who annually rents cottages in the summer and have stayed at various types of properties over the years. With this property, you must remember you are paying for ‘muskoka’ and not the cottage, even though one would hope for a high quality cottage considering the cost. We rented the entire property (Lakehouse, Oak, Seedling, Acorn, bunkies etc) from July 17-23, 2021. The location of the cottages is beautiful. Clear Lake is gorgeous. The Lakehouse cottage was large with several amenities. We were a large family (ages ranging from 1 years old to 70 years old). There are two very nice docks to the lake, however if your are travelling with elderly individuals, children or someone with mobility issues then this place may not be the best place to go. The property is a tree covered property, which is full of mosquitos, very rocky and has lots of slopes. The property does have some cement slabs and large rocks as steps (headed toward one of the docks) but there are several that are not steady and wobbly. The Acorn/Seedling/Oak cottages do have some steps to Clear Lake however again, they are very rough steps and some are steep. Unfortunately, my son slipped and fell on our first night walking between cottages and injured his face. The mosquitos are everywhere (which was expected) but unfortunately ruined our evenings as we were not able to roast smores or stay out on the decks in the evenings. Cleanliness of properties: Main cottage/Lakehouse was the most clean of all the properties, however we expected it to be cleaner especially due to Covid. Obviously this is a cottage but, there were cob webs in all the rooms, sofas were dirty and floors under furniture looked like they had not been cleaned in a very long time. The washrooms were all very clean when we arrived, however we were concerned when we found some medication in one of the drawers which is very odd to have lying around, especially if you are renting this property to families (not vey safe for children). The home has everything you could need from air fryers to cake mixers, however it was VERY cluttered and it was difficult to find places to put our own items. We realize that the owners do stay here, however it should be expected that renters do have their own items that they are bringing. One very disturbing finding was MAGGOTS in the Oak Cottage on our first night, which resulted in all of our family being crammed into one cottage as we were all disgusted in finding them in a bed in one of the bedrooms. We immediately notified the owners and they did come up first thing in the morning to try and clean them, but this was disturbing. They did try to persuade us that the Maggots were something else but our pictures and videos prove otherwise. No one in our family wanted to stay in any of the other of the cottages as they were all very DISGUSTED. We were offered our money back but where would we all go after unpacking with all of our children and elderly family members hours away from home?? We decided to make the best of it and the owners purchased some blow up mattresses so we could have some more beds in the Lakehouse to sleep on but again, this was very disturbing. I was also advised not to open up the pullout sofas as ‘as they hadn’t been open up in a very long time’😬😬 Moreover, the top shelf in the Lakehouse refrigerator and the oven were not in good working order. We tried to adjust the temp in the fridge but it didn’t not work and when we brought this up to the owner she said that if we had a lot of food in it we would have to defrost it. The Oven was very old and took forever to cook food in the oven. Again, considering the cost of this cottage, the large kitchen appliances should be in good working order and not semi/partial working order. All and all this place was not safe at all and not up to the standards we expected. At the end of the day, it wasn’t just one family staying here, there were several of us who all felt the same way about the property. I would strongly recommend that anyone renting a property visit it beforehand to ensure there are no surprises.

Amazing family experience. We loved every moment. Our family is large and we love to have fun, this is the perfect spot. Lots to entertain every age group. The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking to water activities to kids toys. A truly amazing slice of heaven for an awesome FamJam!

We had a fantastic time! Great location! We spent most of our week hanging out on the large dock jumping into the clear water. We found some great fishing spots...reeled in some nice 15” to 19” small mouth bass (catch and release of course). Deborah is a fantastic host, we’ll be back!
