I booked a stay for a little over a month in Room R of this 8-room house with 3 full bathrooms, a shared kitchen and living area, and wi-fi. Off-street parking for 2 cars side-by-side is available on first-come, first-served basis. The space provides adequate, comfortable, basic living quarters, especially if all you need is a room to sleep in and don't mind sharing kitchen and bathroom spaces. The space ended up meeting my needs well--so much so that I ended up booking for an additional two months after my initial stay. The rental price is very reasonable for Oakland--especially if renting for the entire month. Hui and her husband Kenny are extremely responsive on AirBnB messaging. Requests to fix one of the toilets, the clothes dryer, and the disposal were addressed quickly, as was an issue with the kitchen's electrical circuits. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the house and room are secure: There is a code to access the front and back doors of the house (a code which was rotated at least once during my stay), and another to access your room (so no keys are needed). The house was usually quiet both days and evenings, and the other residents generally respectful of each other during my stay. The 3 available bathrooms prevented any wait times for me--even with 8 units that were all occupied. Street parking is available fairly regularly (be aware of street sweeping times and dates). The kitchen is spacious, with ample counter space, 2 full-size refrigerators (which I didn't need to use), as well as a dorm-style refrigerator/freezer in my room. House provides utensils, plates, and cookware for residents to use when cooking. A cleaning crew came in regularly once a week for common areas, so areas that are not kept up by residents are cleaned thoroughly at that time. The house felt well-insulated, so even when outdoor temperatures were up in the 90s or down in the 40s, the room always stayed relatively temperate--even though there is no air conditioning. Onsite washing machine was free (clothes dryer did cost $1.00 for 15 minutes at medium temperature; I needed to run 2-3 cycles to completely dry my clothes). So the prices were comparable to washing and drying my clothes at a laundromat--a little cheaper if I only needed 30 minutes to dry them). If the space looks like it meets your needs, as it did mine, a few things to note: The easement to access off-street parking is very steep; unless your car has a high clearance, you're likely to scrape the car's underside on the pavement (not an inconvenience for me, since I always ended up parking on the street, where there was usually always space within 2-3 houses). Wi-fi is good for browsing, e-mail, and streaming live audio and recorded videos, though live video streaming didn't buffer well on at least one occasion (i.e. the October 2019 Democratic presidential debate). I also didn't use the address to get mail/packages. The common mailbox was located on the front porch and was overflowing during the first part of my stay,and mail that was brought in was stacked on a table in the common living room. Any personal utensils/cookware/china washed and left in the dishrack to dry were, on more than one occasion, inadvertently used by other residents; if you don't want anyone else using your personal cooking items, make sure that they are stored in your room immediately after use. I also recommend providing your own toilet paper and hand soap for the bathroom, since they aren't always there.

I can only ask the host to be honest about the place and the security of others who trust the host when they read the public add at the Airbnb and don’t take peoples money like that. God is good and love the truth. Let be more honest.
