This modern homestead turned short term rental is a nature lover’s paradise! Come explore the Upper Buffalo River, Sweden Creek Falls, Kings River Falls, Hawksbill Crag, the Upper Buffalo MTB trails, stunning gravel routes, and the Wilderness Rider ATV trails. It was purchased as 20 acres of raw land over a decade ago, then carefully designed into a nature retreat experience. Still enjoyed by the family and eagerly shared with others who enjoy nature, peace, and a well loved cabin in the woods. A custom built homestead, with an active garden, rain water catchment, solar well house, fire pit, firewood, and a hot tub. Comes with a fully stocked kitchen including full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and pantry basics. Master bedroom includes a queen bed, dresser, ceiling fan, and heater. Second bedroom has a full size mattress, an extra large twin in the loft, linens closet, dresser, board games, books, and a heater. The living area has a pull out couch, tv, dvd player, Wi-Fi, card games, and DVDs. Bathroom has supplies and extras in case you forgot anything. Towels, wash clothes, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hot tub towels are provided.

Grateful to have found this spot. Incredible location for those looking for privacy and peace. The home was beautiful and had everything you need. Hot tub was our favorite way to start and end the day and the small hike from the deck was magical. Host was wonderful! She was responsive and helpful. Can’t wait to come back!
Rya's place is very charming and comfortable. The space is welcoming with nice details, and well equipped with everything you may want or need!
Rya’s cabin and land is amazing. A great place to spend peaceful days. The creek, deck, hot tub, and fire pit were a huge highlight, but the cabin itself is beautiful. A lot of work was put in to make this a welcoming home. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The land the cabin sits on is perfectly placed near the Upper Buffalo Wilderness, and shares a border with the Saint Francis National Forest. This backcountry escape is in the headwaters region, with several water falls.
This area has a deep history in the Ozarks and is one mountain away from the Upper Buffalo River district. Allowing guests to truly get away from it all!
This tranquil modern homestead is close proximity to some of the most beloved hiking, mountain biking, gravel routes, paddling, swimming holes, and the well known hike to Hawks Bill Crag.
This secluded hideaway is a long way out for resupply. Plan to arrive with plenty of fuel, and all the supplies needed stay. It's less than two hrs from Clarksville, Harrison, Eureka Springs, Fort Smith, and Fayetteville Arkansas.
We are located within the Madison and Newton Counties gravel road network near multiple points of interest. Come in from HWY 16 at Red Star to drive the least amount of dirt road to get in. Please note, AWD/4WD, high clearance vehicles with good tires are strongly recommended. A new driveway and gravel parking lot were completed in 2022, giving easy access for all vehicles, even trucks with trailers will do fine.

I have always loved being in nature and the woods. When I first started hiking and exploring the Upper Buffalo Headwaters area I began dreaming of building a little cabin somewhere in the woods near Red Star. With the help of many of our family, friends, neighbors, and work crews we were able to make it happen. Being in Red Star encourages me to make homemade meals with fresh herbs from the garden, pick berries, make good coffee or tea, go for hikes, mtb rides, cool down by the creek, or paddle down the river.
