We were looking for a secluded getaway for our large extended family and the Fir Tree cottage is exactly what we wanted! The house was rustic and modern at the same time with the large new kitchen appliances, and well stocked for cooking for our large crowd (9 adults and 4 toddlers staying, with another 2 adults and juvenile visiting during the day). It was so easy to open the back door and have an adult or two take the kids outside to burn off energy, or go for walks around the many paths. Being close to the Common there are other walkers and joggers around with their dogs and even a few horses which was exciting for the kids. The final directions sent after booking are spot on, follow them exactly. If you feel lost for a second you're right around the corner from the next land mark. Truly secluded. Yet very convenient to drive into the village for supplies, and the butcher did a wonderful cut of meat for our New Years Day feast. Natalie and Jeremy were extremely responsive via email before and during our visit. Sam Cat as the children called him is gentile and gets on with everyone but especially loves to cuddle close once the kiddos are in bed. Beautiful home and a wonderful visit. Make sure to get outside at night, you can see millions of stars!
