The best location for sunset. So close to town, direct access to swimming / water. The most amazing stay. Would book again every time for a long time to come.
What a special spot!! We had an amazing time here and certainly recommend this place. Couple FYIs to make it not the full 5/5 stars: The WiFi did not work, shower drain blocked, and we weren’t given a key that locked the door. These were smaller issues and we still would recommend this place and had a great time, but were factors that inconvenienced the stay a bit. Enjoy!
Very cute & traditional! We loved sleeping to the sound of waves and the views were enchanting! Thank you for hosting us
The area:
The ancient and storied island of Milos (or Melos) is home to this beautiful property. It's a volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea, just north of the Sea of Crete.
It's the southwesternmost island in the Cyclades group. Its beaches are considered among the best (if not the best) of the Greek Islands, and its coastline is dotted with stunning coves and caves.
Milos is 160km from Athens, 60km from Santorini, and 115km from Crete. On a clear day, you will see the mountains of Crete and of the Peloponnese, as well as most of the islands of the Cyclades group.
An item of interest about Milos is that the Venus de Milo (now in the Louvre) and the Poseidon statue (now in the archaeological museum of Athens) were both found on the island. Milos is a popular tourist destination during the summer. The island has approximately 5,000 inhabitants.
Klima is the most popular, as it was the ancient harbor of Milos and that's why many ancient statues, theatre, etc. Heading north in the area, you'll also find Tripiti, Plaka, the Syrmata villages, the catacombs, amphitheater, and site of the Venus discovery.
Don't miss along the northern coast the narrow blue bay at Sarakiniko, a kind of petrified foam with undulations like bed sheets in the wind, and occasional eruptions. Note pirates' chambers cut out of the stone cliffs. Also along at the north-eastern tip is Pollonia, with some excellent waterside restaurants and the island's only commercial winery, Kostantakis.
The western side of the island is far less populated with gorgeous scenery.
