A perfect cabin getaway :) The wood burning fireplace made it nice and toasty inside. Would totally stay again!

Gillian was a very responsive and accommodating host, and the cabin was situated in a beautiful setting, other than the highway out back. The only downside or negative point is the really insufficient heating in the cabin. There were two weak baseboard heaters in the main room and a little blower in the kitchen. There was a fireplace as well, and that did contribute some heat. None of these were capable of heat the cabin, (ie it took 10 hours to warm the cabin to 65 degrees) . There was no heat in the bedroom nor the bathroom. It was 27 degrees outside when we woke up the next morning, and 52 degrees inside. This defect could easily be remedied if either the host provided portable space heaters in all the rooms or if the cabin was not rented out during cooler months of the year.

We really enjoyed our stay in Gillian's cabin. The view from the porch is gorgeous and the cabin is only a short drive away from the next town. One thing to note is that the road can be pretty noisy at times. Gillian is a great host and was very responsive to all our questions.

Well, don't stay here if you are looking for peace and quiet, or if you are expecting to hear the lovely creek/river running in front of the place. Large, very noisy trucks drive up and down the highway, which is about 30 feet from the back of the house. Don't think about reading either unless you bring your own light. Though the pictures show reading lights next to the one comfortable chair, there is no where to plug it in, so it is useless. There is nothing to start a fire with, the bed is lumpy, the sofa is lumpy, there are no ice trays, and there are lots things to do before one leaves. The house rules say to clean-up after oneself, so why am I paying a cleaning fee. Lastly, getting onto the place is a real challenge. The driveway is not just a "sharp turn" as described, it is a very narrow v-shaped path that one has to drive past and turn around to drive down. This is even trickier on a very busy highway. I do not recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Gillian was super responsive and helpful, it was the perfect peaceful weekend away.
