San Agustín Etla ·
The place is beautiful: trees everywhere, a natural pond to refresh, and a creek. The architecture is very nice, every detail so carefully planned: wood ceilings, stone floors and traditional finished walls combined with elegance. We spent such a good time in the hot water tub. Dining so calmly with the nature sounds and views. Maria is such a wonderful host. Fully recommended.
Serene, private retreat built with the utmost attention to detail. Our family’s favorite place to stay during our Oaxaca trip! The architecture is beautiful, and hosts exceptionally attentive and helpful.
The unit is in a serene sculpted botanically diverse garden. Tall bamboo and trees yield total visual privacy. The narrow canals provide a calming running stream sound. Sleeping was cozy with the doors open on cool evenings. We soaked in the solar heated stone tub every early evening with great pleasure and a glass of wine. Delicious asset! The property is a work in progress; looking forward to seeing it as it matures. Caveat: One needs to be aware there are barking dogs in the neighborhood. It’s country Mexico!
Very beautiful, special place. My friend and I were able to work remote for a few days and it was such a stunning place to do it! Beautiful decor/design, and we enjoyed visiting the town. Definitely a place to relax and feel close to nature
The place is in a quiet alley/road and feels like a local’s home. The architecture is great with a great garden to enjoy the sun and the peaceful atmosphere. Maria and Fernando provided anything we needed and are very responsive. It might be not straightforward to find the place but the instruction helps. There are a few local restaurants and cafes around. Fernando also gave us great recommendations. Bring cash! The town runs on cash. There are only one or two places accepting cards. If you need pesos, go to the grocery store on Independencia ave vs. Pofirio Diaz. He accepts card payment or bank transfer in exchange for pesos. I don’t think it’s his regular service but he did us a favor.
